We don't know anything about Japan because the media is totally focused on the US and the Middle East all the time. Who says there is not a conspiracy. We never hear of Asia, South America, Australia, etc. .....we get news all the time from the US, yet the US never covers a news story from Canada...they are always navel gazing. It's called self-centered and arrogant. I blame the media as much as anyone for distorting the truth. Back to Japan, yes, they have a PM not a pres....beats me if I know his name....regardless, few of us know or really care.....its too bad....we love and respect their engineers and drive millions of their cars, but know absolutely nothing about the Japanese except the women are cute and the men are sneaky.

Japan does not have presidents, they have a prime minister and a parliament. The imperial family is a figurehead. The very first prime minister was Ito Hirobumi, who served in 1885. Hara Takashi was the 19th, actually.

Japan is a Kingdom, and thus has a King. Wales is a Principality, and thus has a Prince.
The USA is a Country, which explains a lot, except why there is a letter "o" before the "u".
This question is further evidence, I am afraid, of the average US citizen's total lack of knowledge of world affairs.
