Why do people Q to top up there oyster cards when they could have auto top up?

Every time your oyster card balance reaches £5 it will automatically top it up with £20 or £40 when you touch it on the gateline.

some people might not have enough in their accounts and then the bank would charge them for going over drawn and then they wouldn't even have enough money left to buy a can of alphabetti for dinner.
