Server is maintained inhouse within our company, therefore space is not an issue. This questions is more from a policy standpoint, what makes sense, at what point does performance get affected by size, etc.

I am not sure about your email server but on Yahoo! Mail, each user has 1 GB of storage.

average is about 5 mb although this varies. You need to check with your isp to see the actual allocated size

200 MB -300 MB for normal user
500 mB for special user
1GB for heads
