It is not necessary to 'get rid' of your sweet tooth. It is very normal to have a sweet tooth,so if you just think you eat too many sweeties, just try and cut down (not completely) to once/twice a week, and drink water before meals so that you won't be wanting to eat 'sweet things' afterwards.
#Remember, if you can't wait to have something sweet, then have a nice dessert afterwards:
*Some nice fruit (pick anything you like) and then add a little 'low-fat' cream and some low-fat chocolate/strawberry sprinkle. Trust me,this is not as fattening! It's gorgeous... enjoy!

Try eating sweet fruits like strawberries or grapes. Or a low fat fruit yogurt. If I have a real chocolate craving I have a cup of low calorie hot chocolate - always does the job for me. However, I do occasionally need my sweet fix and I don't think heres any harm in that! No point denying yourself completely of the things you love!

You can do this by introducing citric acid into your diet. The best source of which is a product called [in UK] PLJ = pure lemon juice. If you drink this, full strength, at the rate of half a cup per day, you will rid yourself of your sweet tooth in about two to three weeks - be persistent.

I am the same way. Get a large glass of water with ice. I drink the water but also chomp on the ice. After 10-15 minutes my craving has disappeared.

Chew gum or have water. Ride the craving out for 15 minutes and get busy with something else. It will pass. Or if you can control yourself, have a couple hershey kisses.

Just eat something sweet but a small portion like a bite of icecream but only a bite that ususally does it for my cravings.

Just eat sensibly and regularly and definitely don't pile in the carbs they higher your cravings for sweet things.
Or just munch on fruit instead of cake and biscuits.

If you can stay away totally from sugar for a few days, you won't crave it. Your glycogen level in the body drops and the cravings go away. Works for me.

what you need to do is resist sugary things including in tea and coffee for two weeks, after that the taste of even small amounts of sugar tastes too sweet.
or you could try to satisfy your sweet tooth, with fruit, dried fruit, or fruit yoghurt.
