I am thinking of getting one because my TV just went out. They are cheap, is it worth it?

I have had an Insignia 26" CRT HDTV 16:9 with ATSC tuner for a little over a year. I leave it on about 12 hours a day. It works just fine.
The picture quality is excellent. I don't care for the sound though, but I have it hooked up to a home theater system so speaker quality doesn't matter.
The one lone dissenting voice so far provided a link to a thread that deals with lack of universal remote codes. The lack of codes has more to do with the universal remote than the TV itself. My Oneforall remote was able to be programmed to work with my TV via a code search.
One other thing, Insignia TV's are made by a multiple of other TV manufacturers. They are just privately labeled for Best Buy. For example, my particular TV's guts are made by Samsung.

Don't buy anything that won't support High Definition.
You only have 2 years until all analog TV's go silent.

I have had good luck with cheap electronics. How do you really tell the difference between high end and throw away electronics? They are all manufactured in China now.

Try Wal-Mart. You can get just as good quality as from Best Buy but for less money.
Stay away from Insignia!

I have had one for about a year. Great picture and sound, no problems whatsoever. I can't speak for the whole brand but my experience has been fine.

yeah!..its worth it but to be more sure just buy those TV that has a famous brand name.....that's really worth it....
