Like a smoke screen to let people blame someone close to home for a general mess? Why real problems are not addressed? Afraid?

It is a means of diverting attention, not so much for other problems but as a means to bring out national IDs and limit freedoms further...just think that we are spending billions on Homeland security to protect us...and 11,000,000 accidently slipped over the border??? If I were the boss, someone would be fired,,,,but we are just stupid citizens...so what do we know?

Illegal immigration IS a real problem because people like you were too afraid to really tackle it. The only ones who aren't hurt by it are illegals. Stop with the conspiracy theories and get an education.

Lots of countries around the world have lots of problems, illegal immigration is a problem shared by many countries, from canada to cuba, from spain to singapore, america included.
Ending illegal immigration is a great first step in helping countries to build up their own economies. You can't build anything worth a damn if all your good workers hit the road in search of a better paycheck. It sucks for some countries, but that's what they mean by 'development', they have to build the roads, schools, and hospitals that will help them go forward in the world.

Have you looked around you? Do you think ALL these people are legal? Some, ok, but when it get to be so much that we can't take care of them (I'm not talking about the ones that work and try to take care of themselves) something needs to be done.
Now to answer your question, no its not a diversion tactic.

Some illegals have criminal records at home but most have food,clothing and shelter problem at home.
