i have very big arms they have a lot of muscle that i no longer want but i don't want to let it all turn into fat, does any1 know a good way to tone down and just loose an inch or 2 of the top of my arms cheers xxx

Muscles can't turn into fat. They are 2 completely different tissues.

If the size of your arms is due to large muscles as you've said, and you wish to reduce them, just stop working the arms using heavy weights. Muscles growth and the maintenance of muscle size depends on the strength required of them. If you don't make the muscles work near their maximum strength, they will atrophy and shrink.

Using light weights and high reps on your arms can result in there being more definition and vascularity in your arms. This is great if you're into that sort of thing, but most women aren't.

If, however the size of your arms is due to the amount of fat there, then no exercise can spot reduce the fat from that area. How fast and where you lose your fat first is genetically predetermined. Look at pictures of your mum and dad from when they were young (and thinner), and compare them to how they are now. This will give you a great idea of where you tend to store fat more and where you will lose it least.

The only answer is good old fashioned cardio work, and a sensible diet with lots of lean proteins, complex carbs and low fat. Do not crash diet as this will only lower your metabolism.

Ok ppl have suggested going to the gym and re build the muscles that has turned into fat its just a case of toning them back up. You dont need to go to the Gym and spend so much money on membership. All you need to do is go to your kitchen cupboard and grab 2 cans of beans or whatever you have in there. Whilst watching tv just use them as weights. Its easy and so much cheaper. Do this for about an hour a night and it will turn back into muscle.

hey lady the best way to slim down any part of ur body would be gymin but if u don hav the time or if ur too lazy u get some vibratin pads in the market which exercise and reduce the flesh in a perticular portion....

Hi,

Best thing to do is use light weights and a high number of reps, this will allow you to decrease the muscle mass whilst still maintaining tone.

Also, do plenty of stretching as this will allow the muscles to increase in legnth and therefore reduce the 'bulk' as well as helping to prevent injury.

dumbells will do. those 9lbs will do. Use 2 palms on one dumbell, placed is over ur head and pass it down in direction of the decrease back of the neck then decrease back as much as the unique place. Do 3 contraptions of 10 each and every morning and evening. boost as quickly as u are stable adequate. it is going to take those fat off in 3 weeks if u do it suitable.

Do you know of those slim waist bands for exercise. They create slimming waists of course. You can use the same around your arms. They create sufficient sweat to reduce the size of them. Of course you must exercise.
