Well, it really depends on how long your hair is. There's lots of things you can do with hair that's longer than shoulder length. Mine is down the middle of my back just past my bra line. I love just straightening it and I use a flat iron. Other days when it is humid and or raining and I know it will frizz I will put gel in it and make it tight curls. It looks good and it's different than same old straight days. Some days I just straighten my hair and use a big fat curling iron to curl the ends and give it some umph. Try putting half of it up and curling it with a small round curling iron it will look cute.

buns? high pony tails. half up? the twist? the messy look, with strands that purposely fall out. umm...an elegant braid? cute clips to put up the bang area? when wet but some gel in it if it's a little wavy..that'll hold. u can curl the top so that it has some body to it if it's naturally straight.

How about combing and brushing your hair. Putting some moisturizer and grease or hair food (hemp, pomgranate) or maybe even some gel.
