Is it because you are secretly trying to find God and you want a Christian to help you along the way? If atheists don’t believe in God why try and persuade others that there isn’t a God with scientifical and political crap and become belligerent when you are disputed? WTF? Where does all the anger come? Why hang out all day in the Religion section disputing people beliefs of Jesus and God. We all know your a***s don’t believe in God. So what!!!!!!!!! and i keep hearing the same "Christians are hypocrites" Well no one is perfect and I sure as hell aint.

The atheists are not looking for God. They are trying to exorcise all of their anger they feel toward Christians in particular and other faiths as well. They are very angry, critical people and happy people do not behave in this manner.

The atheists also enjoy the camaraderie with the other atheists and love the lynch mob party mood they get in when they all trash people who need more in their lives other than hedonism.

Largely I'm here to clear up misconceptions and correct false assumptions. I'm actually an agnostic, but since I don't believe in the Abrahamic god, I figure to be lumped into any "atheist" group by a Christian.

There are a lot of questions on this forum directed to atheists/agnostics, and a lot of questions that make false claims or assumptions about them. I would think you'd prefer a calm, rational response.

So, you can call us "a***s" but then refuse to allow us the some courtesy in returning obscenity. So at least you admitted you were a hypocrite before you actually proved it.

Personally, I hang out in here because I know a lot of people in here and I get a lot of answers to my questions because of it. Also, I don't usually become belligerent, it's more amusing to me than anything.

Also, this isn't the "agree with my religion or get lost" section, so you'll just have to tough it out and deal.

Comes down to the basics of religion and the big one BELIEF---
When someone believes in something and is met with someone who does not there is a bit of envy and awe at the believer. Bottom line is, live and let live, that is what is so amazing about the USA. Ability to allow someone believe follow thier own path as long as no one brings harm to another.
If this non-believer/"Athiest "/"doubting Thomas"is bothering you report him or not return to that chat room during that persons time they come online. Flip the situation and play nice first help them to constructively understand the principles/basics of you're belief so they may get the help that they need. If you think you're chatting with a brick then walk....lead a horse to water.

I don't think there is a rule anywhere that states: "All Y users in the religion section MUST follow a Religion or Superstition!"

This forum allows anyone who is interested in the subject, to discuss their views.

BTW: From what I've seen, It seems that atheists and agnostics have a much greater knowledge on the subject of Religion. At least Atheists can agree with Atheists and Agnostics can Agree with Agnostics......Christians on the other hand, can't agree on ANYTHING, they argue about interpretation, rules, trinity, prayer and the list goes on and on...

Why would you be here if you're a christian? Don't you already have all the answers? The reason atheists 'hang out' here is because they're interested in religion and spirituality, the same reason as for everyone else. I can assure you we're not here because we want you to convert us. Seriously, that doesn't make sense. You're exposing yourself to us as much as we are to you, so why don't you think christians in this category are insecure and secretly trying to find atheism?

You're tarring all atheists with the same brush. The religion questions come appear in the "All Categories" section. That's where I see them.
I usually read them because it's just funny what people believe for no apparent reason.
I don't care if I'm disputed because the disputes are irrational.
I think it's very telling that you think science is crap. Science is unbiased. It's like saying that logic is stupid.
It shows the real depth of your ignorance.

Mainly to counteract some of the gross misstatements and lies promulgated by christians.

Evolution is "only a theory"... fundies don't even know what constitutes a scientific theory.

"Science says man came from monkeys". An outright lie.

"Homosexuals can change!" No evidence for that at all.

"Jesus is better documented that Caesar!" Another lie.

Need I go on?

I am not looking for your god. I tried Christianity and found it is not for me. I debate religion because is is interesting, and also because Christians are trying to get their beliefs turned into laws that we all must live by, and I believe that is wrong.

Also, why do you bar people of other religions from answering your questions? There are Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and others on this board.

No, truth be told, I have some free time at work and I enjoy the engagements...

A society needs people on both sides to engage in debates and conversations.

When I started out on this site, I had planned to be a neutral atheist posting my opinions. After a few dozen "You're going to hell" and "You're stupid" emails, I've become a tad jaded and have been much more confrontational

Also, I'll point out (again) that the name of this section is religion and spirituality. It is not called "thesis only"
