A male co-worker has come to work with different bruises and cuts on several occassions. He even had his should dislocated at one time, but the crazy thing about it is he keeps going back to his abusive girlfriend. He tells us that the reason she does this is probably because of the way he used to treat her when they first got together. Not only is she abusive physically but verbally as well? Is there more to this than what he's saying? why does he tolerate this. there's another twist to this, he's currently dating someone else, but always goes back and forth between his current and old girlfriend. what's the deal with my friend?

Yes, it is possible, and it sounds like he is a victim of it. Unfortunately I don't feel sorry for him because all he has to do is walk away. The only reason why I can think of that he would stay is maybe the guilt that he feels for how he treated her, and he is trying to make up for it by sticking around and letting her abuse him.

Yes it is possible that his ex is abusing him. If he did do something in the past she should leave it in the past and not abuse him now. He is a dumb @$$ to keep going back and forth with it. He needs to cut it off and move on with his new girlfriend. Report the ex she needs a lil jail time and domestic violence classes to calm her a$$ down a lil.

some men accept this treatment and are afraid/ashamed to report it. some men are no different than women when it comes to reporting and acting upon it. sometimes the victim feels the abuser has power over them. its a sad situation but a very real one.
