Why do people make such a fuss about an age difference in a couple if the woman is older. If a man is older, no matter if it is 40 years, it is accepted. If the woman is older, people either think he is after her money or that one of them is desperate. I don't understand the big double standard here.

in my opinion, why would a younger man truly want to be with an older woman for any extended period of time? Most men like eye candy and if he is drastically younger than the woman, at some point she is going to look pretty bad compared to the women in his age group. Also, it is a known fact that women mature at a more rapid rate than men so having said that, women need to be with an older man (maybe?)

You have an excellent point! I think alot of people see men as getting more sophisticated/sexy with age, whereas older women are seen as "grandmas" (which is not sexy).
Actually, in alot of "older man" cases, the woman is after the $ too, so it's not just young men that are viewed that way.
The grandma thing is about all I can think of, or maybe men just age better and that's why they are more accepted? I often wonder about these things myself.

women mature faster than men, which is why its usually the girl who is younger when the couple is young this is a stereotype that seems to be repeated when the people get older, but as long as the age different isnt too great then its okay. my mum is older than my dad by the way!!

women are judged a lot more by their appearance whereas men are judged by their career, confidence, etc.. when a successful older man marries a younger woman, it's seen as a good match because they are both "winners".. the man is a winner because he's got a good career and a young wife, and the woman is seen as a winner because she snagged a successful man and she's young and attractive.. but when an old woman marries a young man, society sees them as losers.. young men usually aren't as wealthy as older man, so the man is seen as a loser because he isn't as wealthy, combined with the fact that he's married to an older/less attractive woman.. the woman is seen as a loser because she married a poor guy and because she's not as attractive.. you're right it's a double-standard.. it's unfortunate our society is so judgemental..

They say that women hit their sexual peak around 40. I am 40 and I know mine sure has hit. Men are supposed to hit theirs at 20+. Of course, a 20 year old does not have the experience a 40 year old would have. But whoo hoo to the stamina!!

i don't know, but personally since i was 19, i have always been with older women for say... i was 19, she was 36... i was 20, she was 47..... i was 25, she was 42..... i was 26, she was 44..i was 27, she was 54...i am presently 40, she is 42..... smile... i personally don't see what age difference is except numbers....anyway i say if it feels good... then do it as often as you possibly can.... and love it baby

well no matter what you do there will always be some one who thinks it is wrong. There will also be some one who thinks it is right. Belive it or not some people think it should be leagal to sleep with little boys or girls or dead people. Alot think it is wrong. Well i say if it isnt illeagal go for it. Who gives a shitt what they think they arn't you they arn't your parents they dont matter dont listen to any thing other then your heart

That's not entirely true, real men think its silly to date someone outside their age bracket. A lot of these men with younger girls lose friends and respect amongst their peers. Now granted these real men today are called judgmental. I'm proud to be one of them.
