... how many others, and what about them, did you consider? How many religions are there to chose from? What were your second and third choices?

My paternal family is Catholic. I rejected catholicism because they never bothered to baptize me. (they baptized my brother) I took it as a sign. Also, because the mass was in spanish and they never bothered to teach me spanish.

I rejected Judaism because I'm not Jewish.

When my mom found out there was a sunday school bus, she started making us go, to get us out of the house so she could be alone. I rejected all the Christian cults for obvious reasons.

I rejected buddhism (as a religion) because I want to live life, not escape it.

I rejected hinduism because I'm not of that culture. I'm partial to Shiva. (See, why I can't be buddhist!)

I rejected paganism because it has no purpose. It's not even a religion. It's more like a broad set of beliefs. You could actually classify paganism under animism. I'm an animist, but that's not my religion.

I rejected Wicca because you don't need all that mumbo jumbo to get sh*t done. Just do it. Spells are a waste of time. All that preparation and seriousness. Please! The other reason is cause a lot of wiccans are very dark and have messed up energy and are haunted by yucky spirits.

I love Taoism. When I'm ready to settle down and be compassionate and good-natured (ha ha ha ha), I'll be Taoist.

I rejected Christian Science because it didn't stir anything in me.

I rejected Scientology because they told me I was broken.

I am a Religious Scientist because all I have to do is, be who I already am. It's All Good!

I considered them all. Perhaps I missed a few but I hit everyone I could find. I am still finding out about some beliefs and investigating them. My second choice after the one I chose was Buddhism. The third choice Paganism.

I chose Paganism. Threw out Christianity, all the "God" religions. Would be Atheist except experienced some things to lead me to believe there is some type metaphysical existence. Buddhism has a lot of the same aspects that I believe, as does even Satanism - but I didn't like the egotism there.

I didn't chose my religion, my mother made me go, but now that I'm older I've learned that religion is nothing but rules of what you can and can't do. So I call my self a Strict Believer. Because I believe in the Bible word for word and what God tells me. I read this book about religions and all religion is, is a way of doing what you want when it comes down to Jesus.

Deism is my chosen religion. I practiced Christianity and Messianic Judaism in the past, and decided they weren't for me (the whole "give up the use of your Reason and have blind faith in this book" just wasn't for me...). I considered both Buddhism and Atheism.

Second choice was Buddhism, third choice Atheism.

And there are thousands, maybe millions, of religions to choose from.

I chose atheism. My second choice would be agnosticism and there really is no third choice.

I have studied many religions and have rejected them all as myths, cults and of no use to me.

I think that geography makes 99% of the decision. Muslims are muslims because they are born in a muslim nation, and have muslim parents.

Hindus are Hindus because they are born in india and 100's of generations of their family have followed the hindu religion.

Christians are Christians for the same reason....

"Choice" has nothing to do with religion. Everybody thinks their god and religion is the ONLY WAY...I think they are all idiots and have the mental capacity of sheep..

BAAAAA! BAAAAA! BAAAAA!

I don't think religion(s) sit on a shelf waiting to be bought and brought home. They are a belief system within the human heart and mind, then others' are found to enhance and/or work with the belief system. We are raised in a certain way to accept a certain religious belief or practice. When we are old enough to decide, we choose to look at our own beliefs.

my parents reared me in a typical Christian religion. however, because of my interest in my ancestry and finding I, personally liked some of their Religious Beliefs I incorporated several of their Ancient Ways into the typical Christian Belief System. thereby forming a combination which suits my personal idiosyncrasies very well.
