tell their neighbors what kinds of flowers to plant in their front yard ...or what kind of car to buy....or where to send their children to school why do they feel it's perfectly OK to "instruct" them about their religious beliefs or lack of religious beliefs? Shouldn't we respect a persons choice even if they greatly differ from our own?

You can tell your neighbors what kind of flowers you plant in your yard. You can tell them what kind of car you prefer for yourself, and where you send your kids to school. You can tell them about your faith and religious beliefs. But if they choose not to accept any of your preferences, it's their decison, NOT yours. All we can do is love each other, and yes.....respect each others choices. We all aren't suppose to be alike, or think alike. If we all were alike, can't you just imagine how boring life would be?

agree that we should respect a persons choice even if they greatly differ from our own.

then again, if you know that your neighbor's taking drugs that'll eventually kill him or the neighbor's trying to commit suicide, being a nice neighbor, wouldn't you try to guide him to the right path?

point being that for most religion, this life is absolutely temporary. the final destination is the hereafter. If we have faith and are righteous, we'll be forever happy in the hereafter. wouldn't you want to share such joys with everybody?.. ;)

I think it's always okay to share beliefs - religious, political, or on daily life. My neighbors don't tell me what flowers to plant, or what car to buy, but they do give me their advice, and I'm usually glad to hear it. Of course if they said "you need to plant these flowers, or you're going to hell" in a commanding voice, I'd probably be annoyed.

best wishes

Because as a Christian, planting the wrong flower won't condemn you to a life without God.
We are passionate about others who don't believe because we want the best for all, and it's the most important thing a christian can do is to share their faith & personal relationship with Christ. Many don't want to listen & that is their choice, we shouldn't never push to hard, just pray for them in private.

Yes and for that reason I suggest that neighbors do not send missionaries to our house.

And I don't want to be told by a neighbor that so-and-so is saved. For one thing, I don't want to hear about it, and for another I really resent people who can sin without fear of hell.

If you are going to believe in all that crap, I at least want you to live with the fear of hell and damnation.

And in reference to this particular question, whatever the case may be I don't want to hear about it. Tell us to change our garage door, if you must, but shut the hell up about your idiotic religion.

Yes of chouse we should, but not ever one in the world agreess with that. There are some religins that have there follow knocking on doors. Everyone knows ppl hate that and yet they still do it.
Why?
Because it what they believe there supsted to do' spread the word' So as long as you respace they got to spread it. After you've listen you can tell them sorry I disagree please repaced my beliefs as I respaced yours.

We should, but it rarely happens. People want to think they're way is the best way even though we all see things differently. Pride.

As long as their choices don't have a negative effect on us, sure. If their religion is oppressing science and causing wars then it's okay to have a talk to them about it.
