Hohor Muot or "High Mindedness". It is the original idea behind the Code of Chivalry. These are:

Generosity,
Loyalty,
Courage,
Discipline,
Persistance,
Moderation,
Honor,
Knowledge (knowing other languages),
Music (playing a musical instrument),
Self-Restraint,
Respect of Those who Deserve it.

I have studied these, researched them, and actively apply them on a daily basis.

Do unto others.......

I try to stick to it. No one is perfect and we all faulter from time to time. I find that rule of life to be good and solid ground to stand on when it comes to living my life. I add that to "And it harm none, do what ye will" and feel fairly balanced that I can live my life the way I want without causing intentional harm to anyone and be kind and courteous to others.

Short, simple and to the point.

Blessed Be

I believe in fair play and the ethic of reciprocity (Golden Rule).

I try to balance my needs and wants against those of others, treat others respectfully even when they do not reciprocate, and do my part to support and contribute to a just and equitable society.

What grade would I give myself? I think I'm doing pretty well on the first two, and I'm trying to add more opportunities for doing the final part.

"Do unto others as you would have them do to you", but I feel this is somewhat selfish.
Guess the best moral to live by is LOVE which really means "Live for the other without expecting anything back in return..."

Do I live by this moral? Very little to be honest but it gives me a purpose in life when I do..

I try to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord based on the words of the Bible. Jesus taught love and compassion, understanding, and acceptance. He did not use threats of hell or scare tactics to convince others that the Lord was real. He modeled behavior (through His words and actions) that was appropriate. I try to follow His lead.

I try to respect everyone and their beliefs but sometimes it is hard, especially in this forum where I have encountered so much hatred towards all people from different cultures backgrounds.

I follow this rule: "Do what you want as long as it harms none!"

It allows more freedom than that antiquated law known as "Christian morality", but still protects others from your actions harming them.

I believe in treating others with respect & dignity- I do fall short sometimes.
I believe in honesty- and again, I do fall short.

So, I am a Christian, but in no way perfect.

Everyone should be free to do what makes them happy, as long as it harms no one, and everyone involved is of age and consenting. I stick to this as much as humanly possible.

I follow 7 principles and of course, because I am human, I can fall short of the mark of excellence...who doesn't? "He who is without sin, cast the first stone".
