I am going to attend college in January in Ohio and wondering if anyone knows any thing about a grant that you can recieve for college if you are having a hardship or life changing circumstance. I am going through a divorce, living with my parents again, and have a three year old. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, there is money out there, but most of it will take time to get it except for the Federal Financial aid program. One warning, it is difficult but not impossible to locate scholarships for those returning to school. So, it is an idea to start now researching and applying for scholarships.

First, apply at FAFSA.ed.gov since it will help you tap into both federal and college funded grants and loans.

Second, check out your college's financial aid website since many list scholarships offered by private companies and organizations. However, you have to apply for them separately, and this takes time to hear from them.

Finally, join free membership scholarship websites. Many are updated on a regular basis with new scholarships.

Good luck!
