There is nothing "lazy" about being a stay at home mom. To start with, looking after a family and a home can take your full time. If any are sitting around "doing nothing" they are not keeping up with what needs to be done. Please understand, I am not putting down working moms, they do a wonderful job working and caring for their families and when finance is tight, there really isn't much other choice. Stay at home moms also have the advantage of being able to spend more time with their children. All in all, I think all moms are pretty special people and are a vital part of our society.

So, were you one of the lazy ones who did nothing all day? I'm a stay at home mom, lucky enough, and the ones that I know are not lazy at all. We interact with our children, volunteer at schools, organizations and are constantly on the go. Not sure where you're from but to say "Most of them don't get dressed....doing nothing", this doesn't include any SAHMs that I've come in contact with in the 8 years I've been able to do this.
Shame on you for being so negative.

I think your delusional how would you know what someone does all day and if you aren't going out why get dress dude I am pregnant and have 2 other young children and I find my seats and pj pants are the ULTIMATE most comfortable thing to wear in my home why the heck would I sit around in a skirt or jeans ??? that just doesn't make sense ! You should truly be knocked off your pedestal you are no better then anyone because you get up and work and I'm not either and I also GO TO SCHOOL and raise my children all morning and DAY !!! so I'm not as you say AN OVEREMOTIONAL SAHM! so there is some feedback from another busy mother !! hmmph
O and another thing I didn't go ALL OUT ON MAKEUP and HAIR DOS because at this point in my life all that stuff is PETTY TO ME !!! My children are the most important thing in my life and I enjoy them and myself and didn't feel as if I dont get dressed like I'm suppose to walk around imaging my appearance like I'm some kind of supermodel because I'm not I'm aiming for super mom HECK IVE BEEN TO THE STORE FOR DIAPERS IN MY PJ'S LOL I didn't care what OTHERS THINK of me of course I was in and out just for diapers late at night but that's besides the point I am comfortable with who I am and didn't feel I need to IMPRESS ANYONE that is outside my family circle !! ALSO I believe this question was done with the intent to cause conflict and if you are truly a real mother you should step back and look at yourself would you want your son/daughter (/'s) to grow up as close minded and as ignorant as you are coming across please...so that's enough of my 2cents!

I can see your sensitivity level is off the scale, but wait a minute scales don't measure in the negative, how silly of me! Stay at home or work outside, it's a choice. Some are lazy, I agree, but most work as hard as anybody. Don't belittle a stay at home mom. You seem to be someone for whom appearance is tantamount to being a good person. You give too much importance to looks and not enough to feelings. You are mean and insensitive.
Hats off to all of you guys, who think our asker is full of herself.
Hollynfaith, you rock! All of you rock! I have more respect for stay at home moms than for idiots who think the world should revolve around them. Keep on rocking guys. Cheers!
I have been working for 35 years and not one day has gone by where I didn't wish I had stayed home with my daughter. Fortunately she turned out pretty good.
I think they should make an "International Stay at Home Mom Day".

Being a stay-at-home mom, I would actually LOVE to work. But, unfortunately, daycare is so frickin' expensive that I can't. And, maybe we are so sensitive because we are with kids 14+ hours a day, 7 days a week, with maybe one day off every other month while the working moms actually get to be with adults, have stimulating conversation, and get paid. Not all stay-at-home moms are that way by choice. Don't be such a b#$ch.

I happen to be a stay at home mom. I happen to have had a shower and got dressed and did my hair and makeup. I've cleaned the house, did 3 loads of laundry, got my 3 kids off to school, started dinner, and I'm paying bills on line...that's why I popped on here. I'm far from lazy honey! I volunteer at the schools all the time. I work with the drama club and brownies. I even volunteer for my sons football, wrestling and track. It sounds to me that some people are jealous of those of us who just might be fortunate enough to be able to stay home with our kids. You are the one who sounds unhappy. I on the other hand couldn't be more happy. I don't consider this to be a job...but I do work very hard at everything I do .

I think you were lazy most stay at home moms have to be so many diffrent things a nurse a taxi, help with homework clean, cook, organize.I think your probly the rudest person Ive ever encountered on here. What about the ones I see in the gardens doing yard work freezing drying canning cooking a weeks worth at a time plus all the volunteer work they do.This country would fall apart without them you were just a lousy stay at home mom so you assume they all are.

Well my dear, this will be short but sweet...I am a stay at home Mom, I am able to do things around the house, and still go to my daughters school and offer my services.
You seem a bit upset, but not to worry, not all husbands' can support their family. I am glad mine does, and for your information we are both retired at an early age.
Take that........and stuff it with your argument.

I'm a stay at home mom, and I'm not flippin sensitive. I enjoy staying at home with my daughter. I get dressed everyday and shower put on my makeup, do my hair, run errands, clean the house, do laundry, play with my kid, teach her things like her colors and letters.I think I'm very productive. Don't you think its kinda wrong to stereotype people if you don't even know them? If people want to stay home with their children and are financially able to do so, then why not? What makes you better than me?
