Our property manager runs voyager software and claims the data cannot be exported to excel to run special reports. Is this true and if not what are the steps?

The website doesn't mention exporting, but it does mention custom report writing. Have you tried that option? Sometimes those options are in Crystal. If you can get data in that, there may be an export from there.

Another option is to print reports of data to a file. Choose .csv if it is available or txt that can be brought into Excel. I don't use .xml mentioned in other answers, but it could work too.

It may be full of titles and other artifacts you don't need, but you can probably get the data some way.

Have you considered the possibility that the property manager doesn't want the data exported? Check it out. Ask the manager for the manual to the software and see how they respond. If the manual is provided, look in the index for export and/or ODBC. If it supports ODBC, you can link to the data and maybe edit it from Excel. If you go the ODBC route, you really would be better off with Microsoft Access instead of Excel!

Good Luck!

If the software can not directly export to excel, you may try to export as an .xml file, and then import into excel.

xml is a universal format which many programs support!
