Have you thought of using a George Forman grill, i use one on my work top at home?? Or one of those steak pans with the ridges are good too!

For about $60 you can get a Jeep brand indoors portable gas grill at Wal-Mart and Sam's Club. They are about 4-5 sq.ft and do not weight more than 10 pounds. It is very convenient and easy to clean... it uses small propone gas and the grill are is big enough for a small kitchen. You fold it for a conveniant storage.

I think I'd get a skillet that has grill lines in the bottom for that kind of stove. I'd worry a cast iron grill pan would not get hot enough on your flat stove to get a sear and flavor going.

I would say no. You don't want to damage your glass top range.

If you need to grill indoors, try a George Foreman grill.
