A few days ago I bleached my hair, wanting to go a lighter blonde than I am naturally. I then added a toner yesterday, a light ash blonde. After washing it out, I found that there are spots of grayish-purple everywhere. What can I do to get rid of them, besides paying $200 at a salon. I did some research and learned that ketchup as well as aspirin can remove the green from chlorinated hair - will this work for the whole hair dye situation? I don't want to have to dye it again, as I'm afraid it'll kill my hair, and I have a wedding next weekend to go to. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance,
Sarah

I was a professional hairdresser and you did one of the "Don't do's", as I'm sure you've already discovered. Never, when bleaching hair put anything with an ash or beige base directly overtop as there is no pigment left in the hair for the chemistry to work right. Ash - green, and Beige - blue or purple. I recommend going to a salon first of all, as they will simply get it done for you. However, if you really can't afford it (depending how long your hair is, it many only cost around $100 to fix it). Use baking soda with a clarifying shampoo and put that on your hair, leave on for a few minutes. Then rinse. After that condition the heck out of it, leave on for a few minutes. When you go put another color on top make sure it has some regular tone to it (ie: golden blonde, natural light blonde, anything with a warm base. If you had mixed an ash with these then it would have worked out. But right now, because it's already in there you need to simply put one of these on top. I cannot guarantee this will work, because I"m not sure the drugstore color's ingredients. Sometimes there are metallic dyes and that can be a nightmare too. Do yourself a favor, especially since you have a wedding this weekend, get yourself to a professional colorist now.

Your mistake was using the ASH toner. When you use ash anything..toner, dye etc. on bleached hair it will turn gray. I learned the hard way when my friend convinced me to try an ash blonde color over my bleached highlights. What I did was wait a few days and dyed it again with a honey blonde color and it was fine.

A salon won't cost you 200.00. You really should have a professional look at, you want to look good for the wedding right. Also, you mat want to try a beauty school if they have them in you area. They are 1/3 the cost and the students are supervised by a licensed professional.

Is there a beauty school in your area? They would love the challenge.
This may be a golden opportunity to go really short.
Good Luck and remember, unless you are getting married, very few at the wedding are going to be thinking about your hair.

GET A PROFESSIONAL!!!! At this point, you've damaged your hair so badly, you're going to need one. Just imagine what could happen if you do the wrong thing AGAIN!! Especially with a wedding to go to.

you have mixed the wrong color solution try getting some pert shampoo it may not take it all out but can calm it down and help it blend if its still there for the wedding try getting a rinse that you apply to the hair and cover/blend whats left don't worry it won't hurt your hair it washes out that night.

I don't know why people don't want to seek professional help when it comes to lighting hair. Pay the money it will be worth it in the end.
