Like most everything else in the world, there are pro's and con's--if it was all "pro's" for one of them, then the other wouldn't really be a choice.

DLP:
Pros: generally less expensive, projection technology eliminates the look of pixels on the screen (i.e. film looks more "film-like"), can last indefinitely with bulb replacement every few years.
Cons: not "flat-panel" (the sets are about 15" deep), limited viewing angles (but not as bad as old-fashioned projection TV's and older LCD's), some people see a "rainbow effect" when images are moving quickly.

Plasma:
Pros: flat panel, wide viewing angles and a consistently bright picture
Cons: generally more expensive than comparable DLP's, screen irrevocably dims over time (resulting in a life of about 8 years of normal use), prone to screen burn-in if an image is kept onscreen too long.

Personally, I prefer DLP (I've got a Samsung 50" 1080p DLP at home)--but it's largely a matter of taste; you should go to your local electronics store and scrutinize the different types and brands for yourself.

If you have the money, Plasma, if not DLP is a good alternative.

Dude, I don't know which ones the best.........but I just got a 56" Samsung DLP and the picture is unbelievable......... Also, with DLP you can replace the bulb if it burns out, when Plasma and LCD burn, you have to buy a new one!
