then doesn't that make them even less likley to go to heaven? or do they think that God will award them with heaven for the conversions? or is it just a scheme to get them into there cult... and also if you don't get into heaven where do you go and does the bible support this or is it all based on private revelation?...

The term "cult" is an insulting synonym for "religion". The term has no place in a polite conversation.

A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to get a householder to "change his mind". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!

That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.

(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

Well I do know a bit about that religion. Jehovah Witnesses believe that the more people they get to convert the better the chance to live their afterlife with Jehovah. Jehovah's don't believe in heaven, they say that everyone is going to live here on earth, that everyone will have a beautiful home, and that all their food they will need will just grow around and you just go out and pick what you want. They also believe that the more good deeds you do here and now will save them. The bad people will vanish from earth (where they will be going ...I didn't get that far).
As far as the Bible supporting some of what they say it does. But that is why I say people get different things when they read the Bible. These people pick and choose what to show you so that to convinced you that they are correct. These people know their Bible backwards and forwards.
I will end with this, I will not disrespect anything you want to believe, but when you get to my door there is a sign that says in clear view....No Jehovah Witnesses Allowed. So respect my wishes, I will not knock on your door so please don't knock on mine.

It doesn't matter which bible you use, they all teach that the earth is going to be a paradise in which the righteous will live.

Man was created to live in a paradise, serving and worshiping Jehovah.

Jehovah didn't change that original purpose.

Prov. 2: 21For the upright do inhabit the earth, And the perfect are left in it,

22And the wicked from the earth are cut off, And treacherous dealers plucked out of it!

Ps 37: 9For evil doers are cut off, As to those waiting on Jehovah, they possess the land.

10And yet a little, and the wicked is not, And thou hast considered his place, and it is not.

11And the humble do possess the land, And they have delighted themselves In the abundance of peace.
29The righteous possess the land, And they dwell for ever on it.

2 Pet 3: 13and for new heavens and a new earth according to His promise we do wait, in which righteousness doth dwell;

Rev 21: 3and I heard a great voice out of the heaven, saying, `Lo, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and He will tabernacle with them, and they shall be His peoples, and God Himself shall be with them -- their God,

4and God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and the death shall not be any more, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor shall there be any more pain, because the first things did go away.'

Jehovah's Witnesses do not teach that you have to earn your way to salvation.

Those who put forth that idea are either misinformed, or purposely lying.

Better to have a half-butt religion than none at all. As far as
I'm concerned, Witnesses and Mormons are the true
evangelizers. Going door to door like Scripture asks us to do.
Not everybody watches stuff on TV, because lots of people
have stinky attitudes toward religion since we all have had
hypocritcal people who claim to be religious hurt us.

when you read the Bible ( I mean, actually read the whole thing), you will notice when you get to the books that deal with the life of Jesus, and the activities of those who followed his example and commands, you will notice the frequent use of the words, preach, preached, preacher(s), preaching teach, teacher(s), teaching, ministry, minister, etc. Pay attention also to the fact that Jesus spent his entire life after being dedicated with baptism, walking through Israel, publishing,(talking about and teaching) the Good News of God's Kingdom. His disciples also did this.
Now, when you compare your obervation of the acts of Jesus and his disciples(preaching and spreading the word as a direct and consistent activity) to all of the so called Christian religions, of all of them, who today is doing the preaching work that resembles the work of the Christians of the Bible?

IN the complete absence of any other religion taking seriously the command of Jesus Christ to "Go therefore and make disciples..."
(Matthew 28:19), one might reconsider dismissing the Jehovah's Witnesses as a 'cult'.

All other churches that say you are Christian? Why are you not doing the work of makong disciples like Jesus commanded?

I used to be a Catholic and have been one of Jehovah's Witnesses for 10 years now.It is the only religion that adheres solely to the Bible as the basis for all their beliefs.
We go and speak to people about our great God,Jehovah
and what blessing His Kingdom will bring in obedience to Jesus' words found at Matt.28:19,20-"Go therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations.....teaching them all the things I have commanded you....."
Jesus did a work similiar to this and instructed his disciples to do the same.(Acts.5:42,20:20).So in obedience to Jesus we endeavour to reach as many people as possible before the end of this system of things with the good news about God's Kingdom which is something the churches of Christendom do not teach their followers and yet God's Kingdom is the central theme throughout the Bible.
Because Jehovah's Witnesses adhere closely to the Bible explains why they do not preach that all who are good go to heaven. The Bible does not teach that all go to heaven.God's original purpose was for man to live on a paradise earth,in perfect health for ever.Even though,Adam and Eve disobeyed their Creator and forfeited all those blessings for their offspring,Jehovah's plan has not changed.Through faith in the ranson sacrifice of his dear only begotten son,Jesus, honest hearted humble ones again have a opportunity for everlasting life on earth.(Ps37:9-11,29;Pr2:21)
Rev.14:1-4 tells us that 144,000 faithful Christians who have been chosen from the earth will reside in Heaven with Christ Jesus as kings and priests with him over the earth. The ingathering of this "little flock"(Lu.12:32)began at Pentecost 33CE when Holy Spirit annointed 120 faithful disciples in the upper room.
If you at least look up the scriptures I have mentioned you will hopefully see that this is not based on private revelation but on God's holy word, the Bible.
If you desire any further information, why not consider speaking to Jehovahs Witnesses at your local Kingdom Hall. You would be far better off doing that than asking questions on this website as the answers you are receiving are not only biased but they are also inaccurate and based on ignorance and not understanding

from what i have seen I wouldn't call it pushing conversions... they are actually a pretty hard religion to get into, I have known some and some converts.. that have been converts for years but not officially "in"

as for death and heaven... if i understand it correctly

everyone dies.. and waits in the ground asleep till the judgment day and those who have done good and proper in their views will be the ones resurrected

Well I do not agree with jw's they are trying to ge tpeople to join them and that is okay if they take no for an answer but I have found that they usually do not. The most effective way to get them to leave is to tell them I belive in Jesus Christ as ny saviour. They do not seem to want to argue with that ans will leave. Yes the Bible supports the kingdom of heaven You can find it in many places One off the top of my head 1Corinthians 6:9-19 has good verses about who does ans does not make into heaven andthere are alot more enjoy reading.

The JW's think that you have to 'EARN" your way to heaven. This is why they go door to door.
This is very UN Biblical. The Bible says. BY GRACE ARE YE SAVED through Christ and that not of yourselfs it is the GIFT of God. Ephesians 2:8
Anyone who trys to say anything else is calling God a liar and a an indian giver. And we know that both of those is WRONG!
