I'm a pretty clean guy, and have had these on the back of my head for over a year now. When I get stressed they get worse but never go away! I've tried tea tree shampoo, washing my hair twice a day, and head and shoulders. I eat healthy and work out 6 days a week. I've gotten no reasonable answers from the medical field either. Any help would be great. They are very painful and embarrassing!

It could be possible that it is Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Although the lesions associated with HS usually appear in the armpits or the groin, they can show up on the head too. Please take a minute to check out http://www.hs-usa.org to see if anything sounds familiar.

The key thing that makes me think that it may be HS in your case, is that you mention that stress makes them worse. Stress is a HUGE factor in HS...

I concur with Trishy.

My mother has hard Hidradenitis Suppurativa-like lumps on the top of the back of her neck/bottom of her head. She's had HS for about 30 years in all the regular places, but the ones on her neck have never came to a head.

I would definitely check out http://www.hs-usa.org for further info. If it is HS, it can be TREATED, but not cured.

Best of luck.
