I am for all three of these.
1. Wikipedia should not be used as a source for anything. under any circumstances.
2. ppl just answering to get points i report as spamming and everyone else should also
3. ppl copying a text from something else are committing copyright infringement and should be prosecuted. any references should be linked to the original web site.

By the way. I wasnt spamming on this answer http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgDF_G3cpAxK2krKAezO6MXsy6IX?qid=20060922075235AAbv3nd
I was giving an example of what they asked for.

1) Agreed - It's a handy resource to get an idea about something, but it is an authority on absolutely nothing! Especially something as important as medicine. Any schumck could go in there and say something like, "Ephedrine not only is a great pain killer, but a good source of protien." There is nothing to stop anyone.

2) Agreed - To me it actually takes away from the community.

3) Again, I agee with you.

However, here is the problem, there really isn't a practical way to ban such things. I guess it's just up to the asker to judge wisely when choosing the best answer.

You are right for the most part. I have occasionally used another website and pasted info. But when I do it is because I have used this info. Most of the time though the sites have very helpful info that is right. It just like some of the questions on here that are so simple to answer that maybe they shouldn't even be asked.

I agree- Wikipedia is too easy, the huh? answers can be banned you report the people and select points gaming, and don't paste an answer you don't understand!! That's why there's so many repeat questions on here cuz no one learns anything!

Some of the questions are so easily answered with a simple search I use links, copy and paste. Sorry that causes you discomfort.

I agree with all your points, 1 is just plain stupid, 2 is greedy and 3 is kinda cheating

I guess I agree with you. I actually did that for a little but but then realized that anyone can google the information. People do come here to seek personal opinions and advice and gain knowledge from peoples' personal experience. Thanks for bringing it up.
