I can't comprehend not walking around with one. So I guess we're even.
The main reason I carry is because of wild or uncontrolled animals, I almost shot a dog that wasn't properly restrained.
Personally, I'm more concerned with dog owners, because dogs have their own mind and dog owners don't have total control over them.
My Peacemaker has never gone off with out me pulling the trigger and I've never drawn on anyone and no one has ever drawn on me

In my state, (Texas), you must have a concealment permit. They are not difficult to get for the average person. They do a background check, make you take a gun safety course, and register. You also have to pay $100. That allows you to carry a concealed weapon. You must show your concealment permit any time an officer asks to see your drivers licence, etc. (i.e., if you're pulled over, you must tell them immediately that you have a concealment permit, and if you have your weapon with you.) A concealment permit does NOT allow you to carry a weapon into areas that prohibit - such as some public transportation, federal buildings, etc.
Outside of a CONCEALED permit, you are allowed to carry a weapon wherever you want. It must be unloaded, and in plain view. If you are carrying it in your car, it must be out of reach, and stored in a separate place from ammunition. For instance, if you do not have a license, you should carry your ammo in your glove box, and the weapon in your trunk, or vice versa. It is illegal to have these two items accessable at the same time.

Alaska and Vermont are states that allow any US citizen 21 years of age or older, who has not been convicted of a felony or domestic violence, to carry a concealed handgun without a permit, with several exceptions. It may not be carried in a place where the primary business is the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages, any federal building (including the post office), any hospital or similar medical facility, or courthouse. 33 other states require a permit, most requiring the applicant to successfully complete a handgun safety and usage course prior to issuance.

The state you reside in (as all) require you to have a permit. You cannot assume that the permit from say Rhode Island will be honored in Connecticut. It won't by the way. Even police officers who are off duty/on vacation are not supposed to carry in another state unless it's during the course of normal business.

With a FOID card. each state has their own laws on carrying a firearm, some states you can carry a loaded weapon as long as it's not concealed other states you can but they can't be loaded and the ammo needs to be locked up and away from the gun. It just depends on what state in the US you live in.

If you want to carry a concealed weapon on your person you must have a permit to do so, and there are restrictions even if you have a permit - you cannot go into a government building with it, or into any establishment that serves alcohol.
Even if you don't have a permit you can have a gun in your car if you are transporting it from one place to another, but you are supposed to keep the bullets seperate from the gun (like gun in car, bullets in trunk).

Depends. In general, you are allowed to carry a non-concealed weapon without restriction. Strap it on your hip, and you are legal. To carry a concealed weapon is illegal in some states, and in the states where it is legal, you generally do have to get a concealed carry permit. The folks that say you have to have a permit to carry never seem to realize that is only for concealed carry. You are allowed to strap it on your hip like a cowboy and walk around without a permit if you so choose (assuming you were legally able to purchase the firearm in the first place), and your ability to do so is protected by the 2nd Amendment.

as far as i know you are not allowed to carry a concealed weapon around with you. It has to be carried in a visible area and there are certain places where you will not be admitted while carrying a firearm.plus you need to have a gun permit, and in order to get a permit for a hand gun you have to be an american citizen

A lot of people in Europe, and UK think that because of our "Right to bear arms" in our constitution that we are like the old west, and everyone carries a gun. No. You need to have a permit to own a gun, even for hunting. Concealed weapons are illegal with out a permit, and a darn good reason.

You must have a permit and it also depends on what state you live in. Texas will not allow you to carry a gun. Colorado will.
