I wish I could; unfortunately, the existence of one necessitates that of the other. The devil's saga as one of the chief angels of Heaven; his inflated self-esteem which eventually led him to revolt against God, and finally be routed from Heaven by the angelic forces under archangel Michael's leadership, sending one-third of the "stars of Heaven" = Heaven's angels with him into the bottomless pit; Satan's attempt to tempt Jesus in the desert and make him abandon His Father and His Divine mission of salvation; Christ's numerous encounters with and expelling demons from possessed people, and then giving power to his disciples to drive out demons is ample evidence to the devil's accompaniment of the entire history of mankind, even before Christ came "to put an end to his authority".
No, sister; I cannot believe in God, without believing in His adversary and the latter's continuing delusive schemes, otherwise, making it to Heaven wouldn't have been so hard, had it not been for Lucifer pulling us down by whatever part of our bodies or souls that he can manage. The battle is soooo real; let no one delude you saying otherwise. Read the Holy Bible and see for yourself that the devil's work isn't over yet, and see the signs of his work filling the face of the earth with an ever increasing grip.
Fear the devil, but love God, and accordingly, follow his commandments which he gave you to see you through the devil's temptations. It's hard, yes, but it's a must, if you truly want to be with God for eterntity...not with Satan.

This question and others like it only prove just how lost in the maze we really are.....
We are like computers....when we arrive on this planet out of the box we are pre-programmed with certain understandings....universal understandings.......which in the broad spectrum of understanding is all you need to survive as a spirit.....but because this physical experience is so new to us we seek for other answers and other information.....only focusing on the physical aspect ...slowly forgetting the origional spiritual understandings we started with...because everyone else around us seems to be stripped of them as well......we become the impressionable minds looking for more understanding.....a certain curiosity that children have drives us for understanding of how the world works and how we fit into that picture......Beliefs like this one; the one your question is based on are given to us by, parents, teachers, elders, religion, television and pop culture.....society as a whole.....they are not our own they are on loan to us from other minds (prophets, philosphers...etc.) who have conceived the ideas in the first place........for reasons some known and some unknown....not all positive not all negative...but very mixed up to say the least
Who would trust something as serious and real as our fundamental philosophies of Good & Evil, God and the Devil to the herd mentality (popular belief) of understanding.......well this just seems to be the popular answer so I'll force myself to believe it.....but nevertheless.....it still doesn't make sense to me but hopefully I'll get it someday......then we continue to place the square peg in the round hole hoping it will click in our heads someday..
The answers to the questions you seek such as this are not going to be found externally; found from someone else or somewhere else.....The answers are within....... they are on our computer.......they always will be but we just lost the file directory and cannot find where they are located.....
So to answer your question you can believe what ever you want to believe......its what you actually believe that matters and is real.......It really is that easy....we just forgot somehow

I suggest you read genesis.
If you believe the Bible, how can you not believe in both God, and Satan.
Be very careful though, one of the greatest tricks that Satan perpetrates is getting people to believe that he does not exist.
Satan is the father of lies, master of the art of deception.
Satan actually speaks with Adam, and eve, in the book of Genesis.
He appeared in the form of the serpent.
Can a serpent speak?
Satan will say, "impossible".

You can, but it isn't correct. The biggest lie the devil likes to spread is that he doesn't exist. Whether an actual entity, a philosophy or way of life, evil exists and if we don't stand up to it, keep our guard up against it, it will rule us.

Many Jews believe in God but not a Devil.
The vast majority- if not all- Deists believe in God but not a Devil. I believe in God, but not Satan.
In my belief system, the Deity created all, and humanity itself creates good and evil. We love, accept, and help one another. But we also steal from, dismember, and murder each other. I see no use for Satan in my theology. We ourselves cause all the evil in the world.

As far as spirituality and personal beliefs go, they are just that- personal. I don't think we can view certain beliefs as exactly black and white, as there are so many different things to consider, so many gray areas that all come together within a person's set of personal beliefs. I suppose this is something that everyone could come up with a different answer for, you really just have to decide for yourself what it is you believe.

of course you can. its what you believe. no one should tell you what is true and what isn't true. I believe in God and not the devil, and I know plenty of other people who do. Don't listen to anyone who tells you you have to believe a certain thing, or you have to believe all parts of the bible and all that crap.
