Last year when I was 57, while standing holding hands in church, for no apparent reason. I went completely unconscious. As I awoke I felt like rushing electric waters churning through my body. Later my son who was standing 10 feet in front of me and unaware of what happened to me said, “man I felt the spirit rush by me. Like a swirling wind, it all most knocked me over.” The woman who was holding my hand, when it hit me said, “It passed you and hit your Dad”. All my life I’ve been in and out of church mostly out. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before and I just don’t understand it. I have many questions so just please tell me what you know and your personal experience. Thanks.

Ah, so the blessed Holy Spirit got you.. Well, they say you were "slain in the spirit" God is so powerful and when he comes, our flesh cannot hold him, therefore we basically pass out. It is the most awesome experience that you will ever have just short of meeting God. Praise God! just keep on in faith and he will continue to bless you. I hope you are saved and have fully turned your life over to Christ. Personally the next thing that I would be asking God for would be the gift of speaking in tongues. It is already there...just ask him to bring it forth. I have had many experiences with the Holy spirit and everytime has been different. Sometimes I pass out when he hits me, others I dance in the spirit, and sometimes it is just so heavy...all i can do is cry and worship God. Rejoice in the Lord always...for he is your strength and comfort. Learning how to identify when you're feeling the spirit can be the most important thing for a person to learn. Since I'm not you, it's hard for me to tell what exactly it was that you were feeling. But I suggest digging into the scriptures and doing some personal studing and prayer asking what the spirit feels like.
I think Galations 5 is a good place to start BTW.

The hole spirit is a stinky devil. I wouldn't be surprised if it came from your son in the first place.
