I strongly encourage you to start attending a Bible-teaching, Christ-centered church. If you have a children seek out churches that have a good youth programs.
But let me suggest that you need to ask yourselves a deeper question: What does God want to do in your lives? God loves you, and He has a plan for you that is far greater than simply going to church or vaguely hoping your faith may grow. His will is for you to know Him in a personal way, walking with Him and letting Him enter your lives and change you every day.
How does this happen? The first step is turning in faith to Jesus Christ and asking Him to come into our lives, repenting of our sins and trusting Him alone to save us. Have you and your husband taken this step? If not, begin your spiritual journey with Christ today by committing your lives to Him. The Bible says, "To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12).
The second step is learning to walk with Christ every day. This includes fellowship with other believers, which is why it's important for you to get into a church where Christ is preached and lived. In addition, make prayer and the Bible part of your daily life. Make it your goal to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18).
Remember that no church is perfect. As someone has quipped, if you found one that was, it would stop being perfect the minute you joined! That's why your focus should be on Christ, for only He is perfect.
In addition, ask God to lead you to a church where you can serve Him. Churchgoing shouldn't be a spectator sport! Instead, ask God to use you to make your church a place where He is honored and Christ's love rules.

If you feel the urge, it could be the Holy Spirit urging you to go. From my own experience I can tell you that church membership and involvement has made a tremendous impact on my life. For a few years after I graduated college, I took a couple teaching jobs in small towns and my church attendance was spotty. Then I found a church (I think at the Spirit's prodding) and became involved in the youth ministry.
As a result, I met some of the nicest people I know, and my faith has been strengthened.

I once believed that you don't have to be a member of a church. But its hard living in a world where most people don't live according to His Word or believe. So it's easier to be a part of a community ( church) where you have support, because it's definately needed. Also, thats where you come together with others to grow, to learn, to teach, yourself and others about God. It just helps to have people there that are going through the same things you are, meaning trying to live by God's rule in a sinfilled world. But even if you don't go, keep praying and asking God to stay in your life/ heart. Ask Him to place you in the right environment also. There are alot of churches that aren't right, and you don't want to end up there. But if you ask Him, He'll guide you.

follow your heart and do what you and your family feel is right. none of us should tell you what to do as this would interfere with your free will and freedom of choice. please do what you feel is best for the family as this is a decision which all should be involved in making although the adults have an obligation to rear the children to become good and useful citizens in the Culture and Society in which they live. good luck.

Definitely! If you feel lead, go for it. Just pray and ask God to lead you to the place He wants you to be.
Many blessings.

Well, it's actually to your benifit to go to church. Christians need to be revived and fellowship with other Christians. Just like you eat a meal everyday to keep your body going, church is like nourishment to your soul to keep you uplifted.

if you feel the urge to go then go i'm catholic i don't know what religion you were raised as but if you don't feel comfortable with one then try another one. it is amazing even in the same religion different pastors or priest can really make you either feel comfortable or not.

Do go, especially since you feel you ought to and you know you believe in God.

If you want to, then yes. If you don't, there's no reason to put yourself through it. You don't technically have to attend a church to be a part of any religion.
