Well, bye age 13 or 11, I'm not sure which one, I think it's 11, you should start fasting. Before that you don't have to. But I used to try to for like half a day, or just on the weekends before I did it everyday, just to get used to it.

I have 2 kids (6yrs and 7yrs). This year, they start to fast although it is quite tough at first. But since last year, i allow them to fast without forcing them. Well, they didnt get to complete it until Asr but hey, that's good enough!

I plan to reward them with good food and lotsa kisses at the end of the day.

I started fasting when I hit puberty. So when a kid hits puberty is a good age to fast for Ramadan.

if it is for religious reasons, you probably need to check with your church. fasting can be very challenging to the body- good for the soul, but rough over time. You would need to be in good health already, a majority age, and able to differientiate betwen symptoms of hunger and possible low blood sugar, or problems sometimes experienced with fasting. I think its best to talk with a doctor, church person, your parents, etc. to determine if fasting is ok for you.
