I am looking to buy new golf clubs. I am a 5'8" male. My drivers are 1 wood 8.5 lie which I can't hit stright always hooks or slices. My 3 wood is what I use most It goes straight but alway high in the air about 150 yards even when tee low it is 16 degree lie, my 5 wood which I can kill the ball without a tee in the fairway, etc; is a 21 degree lie. All the clubs are from a mid range "starter" kit. Any suggestion how to size clubs where to by clubs online at good price. Thanks

You should keep the clubs the same size and try using a up right set or a flat set go to a demo day and have someone fit you at least a couple time. Find out about demo days on the manufactures web sites

Depends on how serious you are about the game...a good club fitting could make a big difference to you - as well as some lessons - hooks and slices are results of poor technique usually, not the equipment. Popping up a 3W and only going 150 yards also sounds like player error IMHO...an average age/strength man should hit a 3W 200+

Ping's website has a fitting thinigie you can do online, but you should probably also know how fast you swing the club (have it measured professionally). Companies that tour around selling club shafts often will test swings for free (to try to sell shafts)

I've found about the best deals on clubs online here -

Good luck, and happy golfing!

Roughly speaking, you should be hitting a much higher lofted driver. Without knowing your swing speed I'd say a 10.5 degree driver would be a good place to start. I'm guessing a standard length club or maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch shorter would be right. There is a specific measurement that can determine the correct length. There are hundreds of places on the web that can custom fit clubs for you. You can also do this yourself, I do. checkout golfsmith.com. They have all the charts and info you need.
