Forget that, but more women should show up scantily dressed... I might be more tempted to go regardless of my atheistic point of view.

No, as your mode of dress is between you and God. If you want to disrespect God by not dressing appropriately, than that is your choice. But, if you cannot afford better, ask an elder. They should help you get something better to wear. When I was growing up in the JWs, we shared suits from one person to another, as we grew. Every JW has at least one suit, regardless of their economic status, and males wore suits when they turned 12. One year, I received a new, double breasted suit, from my grandmother, who wasn't a JW. Being a growing boy, I only wore it a few months before I outgrew it. I gave it to a friend, who wore it a few more months, then it passed to another friend, who wore it a few months. We were all the same age. Five years later, they were 10 inches taller than me.
The excuse that God doesn't care what we wear doesn't play well, as we don't know what God does or doesn't care about, except for what we find in the Bible. You don't make assumptions about what God cares for. You do you best to be the best representative of a Christian as possible.

the dress of a person should not matter even in Church. after all it is the person that matters not the manner of dress. after the Church Services are over perhaps you might discretely find out who this person is and find out if they need assistance in some way. then either the Church members could help or suggest some social services where the person can receive the help needed. remember not everything is as it appears to be.

I think any way people can get their butts to church is always better than NOT going. But if you have decent clothes, why would you not wear them to church. Its true alot of people dress better for work or recreation than they do for church. Just because God accepts you as you are, does not mean you cant show some respect and dress nicely for church. Its not a mandate, just something that shows respect.

If you have nice clothes you should wear them to church to show respect for the Lord but if you don't have them it is no reason to stay home. Your church clothes should enable you to look modest and respectful. Beauty on the inside is what counts not if your dress costs 3 dollars from the goodwill store or 200 from a designer store.

In our church, people who come poorly dressed (clothes too tight, dresses too short, boobs out and showing) are the ones who are seeking something, haven't been saved, or haven't been baptized with the holy spirit. We don't send them home. We give them a word from heaven. Once they received Christ and are baptized with the Holy Spirit, they know how to dress because the Holy Spirit will convict their hearts. People who are poor and can't help how they dress? why would you send them out anyway? Provide them some help!

God wants us to come as we are. Did Jesus wear a suit and tie? I think not!! He had dirty feet. Probably didnt bathe often and pry wore the same clothes for sometime. Thers a song from Todd Agnew that pretty much sums up the church today"My Jesus"

How you are dressed should not matter in how you worship. How we dress is to make an impact on others, why else overdress for church and underdress for work (casual Friday).
