yes excellent question I believe that the Lord formed and created humans from the earth, and we depend on the earth for our food, our living and existing so therefore we have a vibrational connection to it,it is like a child connected to its mothers breast, depending on her for sustenance and maintenance of life itself,in the same way is the earth, being in balance physically and emotionally requires being one with all creation, nature and energetic patterns. Many people are affected physically when their is atmospheric changes,or weather changes. The earth affects us all on deep levels, our bodies cannot function without the mineral elements of the soil, our lungs cannot breathe without the oxygen, our minds and souls long for natural places such as forests, and space and plants...It is in our blood and every one of our cells..we are designed that way.Unfortunately modern life is begining to replace nature with staying indoors and being on computers and watching televison slowly we are loosing our connections to mother earth, this is why ill health is on the increase and obesity on the rise...we all need to connect to the earth once again!

You know what's funny? Earth is comprised of about 70% water, and you know what else has almost the same percentage? The human body. Interesting, that.
Anyway, I would agree that the earth is alive, and I'm not even a tree-hugging new ager *grin* How anyone could look out at nature, at all the movement and synchronicity, and *not* say the earth has an energy and consciousness (in its own way) is beyond me.

Yes. I think that is why spirituality and most religions revel in the miracle of creation. Only God could create such an intricate set of coexisting systems. Many people feel much more in touch with God when outside in his beautiful creation, than in a man made church at a shopping mall. His power is infinite and awe-inspiring. Be thankful you have this connection to the elements of the earth. You are gifted. I too feel it at times, from a sunset to the sound of waves crashing on shore.

I think everybody does to some degree or another. I think it why people hike, or go for walks in the park. I feel very connected to everything around me when I go on motorcycle rides through the beautiful canyons by my home. I really think, no matter what your religion, it's a great thing.
best wishes

Certain things that i look at give me that feeling. Like the sky. Thinking about how far the universe expands and how tiny and insignificant we really are. I think what you feel is really great! I wish more people could feel that. Then less people would take our world for granted!!
