Probably the main teaching of Jehovah's Witnesses that separates them from the rest of the religions of Christendom is their belief that there are 144,000 special people that have been chosen to go to heaven; and for anyone else to have salvation, they must identify and associate with the remaining ones of these people here on the earth.

In other words, while most Protestant religions teach that Jesus is the way to salvation, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the way to salvation is only through Jesus AND the Watchtower Society.

One confusing aspect of this, though, is that although they teach that ALL the remaining ones of the 144,000 on earth right now are "the faithful and discreet slave", really it's only the Governing Body of the f&ds that actually count. You only have to associate with the Governing Body, it doesn't really matter about the others who aren't on the Governing Body. Who makes these rules? The Governing Body, who else?

Even though JW's differ from Protestantism in many fundamental teachings (they don't believe in the trinity or hellfire), this isn't really the important thing. Their teachings are constantly changing, even their original #1 teaching that Jesus had returned to the earth in 1874 in an invisible spirit body. The important thing to them is to follow the direction of the Governing Body. Who says so? The Governing Body does.

Basically, the GB has assumed Jesus' role of mediator between God and the rest of mankind, even including the other members of the 144,000 who are NOT on the Governing Body. You can forget about having a personal relationship with God....you just need to have a relationship with the f&ds, cause you can't get to God unless you go through them. Who says so? They do.

Therefore, if the GB decides that the Bible really does teach the trinity, then if you want to be saved, you have to submit to their direction and believe that instead. Why? Because the overriding fundamental belief of JW's is that God is using the Watchtower exclusively, no matter what. If their teaching is in error, no problem. Just wait on Jehovah and he'll take care of it eventually. Who says so? The Watchtower.

Another difference is we do not believe that the trinity. WE believe in Jehovah, the Father, and in Jesus, the SOn, and in the holy spirit, but they are not all God. Only Jehovah is.

John 1:1, 2 shows that word was with God. The part wher it says the Word was God in the Greek does not have the definite article as does the first occurence of God, which in Greek says "the God."

The Gospel was John was written to show that Jesus was, not God the Son, but rather The Son of God. - John 20:30, 31.

Colossians 1:15 tells us the Jesus is the firstborn of all creation.

We also believe the earth will be restored to paradise.
Psalm 37:9-11, 29; Isaiah 35:1-7, Matthew 5:5; etc.

People know that if you say a lie long enough people will actually believe the lie and not the truth.

Lie: Jehovah's Witnesses have their own bible that teach what they want it to.

Truth:

Old Testament:
In fact, the New World Translation is a scholarly work. In 1989, Professor Benjamin Kedar of Israel said:
"In my linguistic research in connection with the Hebrew Bible and translation, I often refer to the English edition as what is known as the New World Translation. In doing so, I find my feeling repeatedly confirmed that this kind of work reflects an honest endeavor to achieve an understanding of the text that is as accurate as possible. Giving evidence of a broad command of the original language, it renders the original words into a second language understandably without deviating unnecessarily from the specific structure of the Hebrew....Every statement of language allows for a certain latitude in interpreting or translating. So the linguistic solution in any given case may be open to debate. But I have never discovered in the New World Translation any biased intent to read something into the text that it does not contain."

New Testament:

While critical of some of its translation choices, BeDuhn called the New World Translation a “remarkably good” translation, “better by far” and “consistently better” than some of the others considered. Overall, concluded BeDuhn, the New World Translation “is one of the most accurate English translations of the New Testament currently available” and “the most accurate of the translations compared.”—

Truth in Translation: Accuracy and Bias in English Translations of the New Testament.

“Here at last is a comprehensive comparison of nine major translations of the Bible:

King James Version,
New American Standard Bible,
New International Version,
New Revised Standard Version,
New American Bible,
Amplified Bible,
Today's English Version (Good News Bible),
Living Bible,
and the New World Translation.

The book provides a general introduction to the history and methods of Bible translation, and gives background on each of these versions. Then it compares them on key passages of the New Testament to determine their accuracy and identify their bias. Passages looked at include:

John 1:1; John 8:58; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:15-20; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:8; 2 Peter 1:1

Based on his research, The NWT was the only bible that honestly translated these verses correctly.

Lie: Jehovah's Witnesses deny Christ.

Truth:
Jesus is the Son of God, my personal Savior,

Without Jesus I can not worship Jehovah.

Without Jesus I have no salvation.

Without Jesus there is no hope for mankind.

Jesus is the King of God's Kingdom.
Jesus is at the Right Hand of Jehovah
Jesus has been given the authority to judge all of Jehovah's creation.

To deny Christ is to deny Jehovah's mercy and commandments.

Jehovah's Witnesses deny the trinity, but why?

rs p. 405 pars. 1-2 Trinity ***
The New Encyclopædia Britannica says: “Neither the word Trinity, nor the explicit doctrine as such, appears in the New Testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Old Testament: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord’ (Deut. 6:4). . . . The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies. . . . By the end of the 4th century . . . the doctrine of the Trinity took substantially the form it has maintained ever since.”—(1976), Micropædia, Vol. X, p. 126.
The New Catholic Encyclopedia states: “The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century. But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective.”—(1967), Vol. XIV, p. 299.

*** rs p. 406 par. 1 Trinity ***
In The Encyclopedia Americana we read: “Christianity derived from Judaism and Judaism was strictly Unitarian [believing that God is one person]. The road which led from Jerusalem to Nicea was scarcely a straight one. Fourth century Trinitarianism did not reflect accurately early Christian teaching regarding the nature of God; it was, on the contrary, a deviation from this teaching.”—(1956), Vol. XXVII, p. 294L.

What is the mental attitude of Jesus?

The list of differences is so long that there is not enough space here to touch on all the differences, so I'll just mention a few...
The most important difference is their denial of who JESUS CHRIST is and what he accomplished on the cross by the shedding of HIS blood. That denial alone leaves them outside of the ranks of Christianity which classifies them as a cult at best.
The J.Ws are a works based religion which is the opposite of what Christianity teaches that we are saved by grace thru faith.
Also the J.Ws rejected the HOLY BIBLE for a version that has been compromised by their own interpreters who do not even speak Hebrew or Greek; the two languages that all mss are recorded in. There is so much more but I am pressed for time and must sign off. ~GOD BLESS YOU AND LEAD YOU~

Jehovah's Witnesses reject the trinity, immortality of the soul, clergy class, idolatry (such as cross adoration), hellfire, pagan "holy days" (such as Oestre or "Easter"), warfare, and nationalism

Jehovah's Witnesses understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite

That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire

While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

Jehovah's witnesses are a cult, defined in the truest meaning of the word. THey are followers of one man who started this religion. They believe that they are the chosen people and they have rewritten scripture to suit their beliefs. They are false prophets preaching a different gospel. It is a works based system, much as most other religions are.

The secret of the Incarnation on my own ought to leave us speechless; upload to that Christ’s words of existence, useful miracles, and effective works of salvation by the go, resurrection, and ascension into glory. Behold, God is my salvation; i will believe, and in no way be afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is my power and my song; he also change into my salvation. (Isaiah 12:2) Jehovah – “The self-existent human being who famous Himself.” Into the barren region of my misplaced way He is composed of discover me and lead me out.
