Listen...I'm a mom of a teenager...and the one thing that my son and I have is communication.

You didn't specify your gender, which is extremely important. Most girls stray away from their moms and most boys like to go to their dad...moms are usually left out in the cold when it comes to kids communications.

Go to your mother and talk to her...tell her you're not doing anything bad...tell her you want her to trust you more.

My intuition tells me that you've done something in the past to make her scared of your actions - and if you have, tell her that's in the past and you've learned from your mistake and you don't intend to go that route again.

You seem like a good kid, and I think by getting advice here is a start to wanting to have a good relationship with mom.

Remember "us moms" love you kids so much that sometimes it's hard to give you your wings. I am overly protective of my son...and yes there are times I wonder if he's telling me the truth, but I have to believe him because he is also a Christian boy and he's not embarrassed to let anyone know that. So we have the trust.

Good Luck.

I know that parents really get worried about their children - especially as they get older and have more freedom (and more ways to do something wrong).

One way to reduce your mom's worrying about you is to open up to her and talk with her. Talk about the usual school stuff, friends, etc... but also talk about the deeper things.

You might be thinking that if you open up to your mom and tell her your deepest feelings that you're loosing some of the control, independence and autonomy that you want.

HOWEVER - it's just the exact opposite. Parents want to know that their children can handle the new challenges and problems they face. If you open up to your mom and she can see how much you're growing up and how well you're prepared for things, she'll probably be less suspicious and give you the freedom you're looking for.
