Check the extension of the file...

If you don't see one it's possible you have to change something in your folderoptions: go to the folder where you put the file, choose EXTRA, 2nd tab (VIEW?), see the list: 'hide extensions for known files' (or something like that) may not be active...

If it actually is a pdf-file, I would try to download it again... check if there's an explanation. Maybe try to rename the file+extension and open it then. If you keep on having the same problem, it's possible something is wrong with the pdf itself. Maybe you should contact the people responsible for it...

Normally you only get a warning to convert fonts when the fonts weren't included properly while making the pdf... If you say where I can find the file (webaddress), I want to check it out for you... if you don't understand what I'm trying to explain...

Sounds like you need a particular program to open this doc you downloaded.
That kind of thing happens if you open a Excel document in Word
try reading in to which software you need to download it x x
