well said brother.
To answer some of the answers above....
Islam / Prophet mohammed never preached voilence. neither did Jesus christ. The problem with the west / christian's today is that they label whole muslim community as terrorist. Why blame the whole religion for some peoples mistakes. Islam is the second largest religion, do u really think all muslims are blowing themself up..... Just to bring to your notice....Pakistan was the biggest allie of US in the war against terror.

History is what it is. What have Christians been doing for the past hundreds of years? We live peacefully and do not advocate harming anyone.
Maybe you should research the Muslim conquests more; the history of these conquests is longer and bloodier than the "Christian" conquests you mention, which, by the way, are not supported by the Bible -- these were people acting outside what the Bible teaches.
Read this article, for instance: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_conquests
Here's a quote: "Under the last of the Ommiades, the Arabian empire extended two hundred days’ journey from east to west, from the confines of Tartary and India to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. And if we retrench the sleeve of the robe, as it is styled by their writers, the long and narrow province of Africa, the solid and compact dominion from Fargana to Aden, from Tarsus to Surat, will spread on every side to the measure of four or five months of the march of a caravan."
That's quite a huge conquest, I'd say. Much bigger than Brazil.

I'm sure all the Christians reading this appreciate your pointing out the sins of our past. You'll also note that we're not rioting in the streets in protest of what you said about this nearly 500 year old event as opposed to Muslims around the world who staged violent protests for the Pope bringing up a discussion that occurred more than 600 years ago.
It's interesting to note that the incident in South America you bring up occurred 79 years after the Muslim Ottoman Turks conquered the last segments of the Christian Byzantine Empire. I'm sure the reports of the weaponry used by both sides must have been in error. Clearly, the Byzantines were conquered by Love, not the Sword.
Before Muslims get all upset about the Crusades, maybe they should pull out of all Christain lands they conquered. Let's see, I believe that includes modern day Turkey, Syria, parts of Iraq, and all of North Africa, doesn't it?

What is your question? Good try ~ Trying to justify Islamic attrocities by saying "Other religions do it too!"
Methinks the Roman King was right and that the leaders of Islam are "pointing the finger at themselves" . . . Perhaps the words of current Islamic leaders can help us determine what is the truth about Islam . . .
In Iran, supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei used the comments to call for protests against the United States. He argued that while the pope may have been deceived into making his remarks, the words give the West an "excuse for suppressing Muslims" by depicting them as terrorists. "Those who benefit from the pope's comments and drive their own arrogant policies should be targeted with attacks and protests," he said, referring to the United States.
(Hmmm. . . Let's see now . . . If someone "Depicts muslims as terrorists" then they should be "Targeted with attacks and protests." according to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei ~~~~ I think I get the picture.)
Al-Qaida in Iraq and its allies said Muslims would be victorious and addressed the pope as "the worshipper of the cross," saying "you and the West are doomed as you can see from the defeat in Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya and elsewhere. ... We will break up the cross, spill the liquor and impose the 'jizya' tax, then the only thing acceptable is a conversion (to Islam) or (being killed by) the sword."
(Hmmm . . . "Convert or get your head cut off with a sword" ~~~I think I get the picture.)
"You infidels and despots, we will continue our jihad (holy war) and never stop until God avails us to chop your necks and raise the fluttering banner of monotheism, when God's rule is established governing all people and nations," said the statement by the Mujahedeen Shura Council, an umbrella organization of Sunni Arab extremist groups in Iraq.
(Hmmm. . . "Infidels and despots will get their necks chopped" ~~~ Yes, I am sure I get the picture now. )
Or it might be that the comments of a man forced them to do it . . .
So far, protests over the pope's comments have been smaller. However, there has been some violence: Attackers hurled firebombs at seven churches in the West Bank and Gaza Strip over the weekend, and a nun was shot to death in Somalia.
(Hmmm, Where in the qu'ran does it say to shoot unarmed women if they are not muslim? ~~~ Yes, the picture is completely clear now.)
All honest muslims should hang their heads in shame and denouce such vile, evil men and their words. Where is the overwhelming denuciation by the Islamic world. Millions of muslims remain silent as silent as those that have been murdered in the name of Islam and it's Allah. Instead the world is continually admonished "Islam is a religion of peace." Lie of all lies!

Ok, past history. Christians started actually trying to be more "Christlike" and stopped being violent. Islam, on the other hand, has never stopped being violent, EVER. THAT is the big difference. Christians nowadays, are not strapping on bombs and blowing up innocent women and children to scare everyone into converting. Christianity=peace, love and life, Islam=fear, violence, hate and death.

No one disputes that a lot of terrible things have been done in the name of Christianity. However, a lot of terrible things are being done in the name of Islam. Islam has a history of violence that continues to today. It started with the sword and continues using it.
Christians have had times where they have picked up arms, some times good (for protection), other times bad (for conversion). Good Christians have, and always will condemn violence in the name of Christianity. Why haven't so called good Muslims done the same?

Ah, yes. The sins of the past.
Let's try this, a little 'example'.
When Abe was younger, he accidentally got a pretty good electric shock 'cause he got stupid and put a key in an electrical outlet. Abe has a little brother named Billy. Abe sees Billy playing with keys near an electrical outlet. Should Abe explain why it's dangerous, or should Abe sit on the sidelines because Billy has every right to learn by experience too, and besides, Abe did the same thing too?
Christians are trying to warn Muslims not to make the same mistakes NOW that the Christians made THEN.
"The idiot learns from his mistakes. The wise man learns from the mistakes of others."
Why is Islam insisting on learning from its own mistakes instead of learning from the mistakes of others?

While what you say is true, why did you have to dig back through history to find this example? We're talking about what Muslims are doing in our world NOW. Most religions have progressed beyond the barbaric stages of physical violence, why hasn't yours?
The reason some Muslims are so angry about this is because deep inside, you know that you are a part of something horrific. No horror movie I know could contain enough violence and bloodshed to make up for what Islamic miscreants are doing to our world in the here and now.

let me brief you on the difference...
a man can kill and perform all acts of sin and say he is a christian and its in the name of god. However thats in violation of the bible and what christ taught and what god wants. so that makes him a liar and a fraud.
A muslim can act the same way with one difference he is simply following exactly to the letter what they believe and what is commanded in their bible.
This means your whole point in trying to bring christianity down to the level of islam is flawed. Doing something in the name of christ does not make it christian. Christ did not conquer anything but sin and death....muhammud killed thousands....do your history better next time.

The gospel of Christ is grace, mercy, peace, and love. Jesus never taught to kill people in order to convert them, or kill them if they did not convert. Those that acted this way disobeyed Jesus, and are therefore not Christians.
Mohammed DID teach to hurt people who did not convert, and to kill those who would not convert. So muslim violence is obedience to Mohammed's teachings, and makes true muslims.
