Hi, I am in my sixth year of distance learning (Open University) studying for a BA. I love the fact that I can work at the same time (and thus avoid the hideous student debt) but it is hard work and it is lonely sometimes. The OU offer some tutorials, residential schools and the chance to meet other students, but it's not the same as going to lectures and seeing people everyday. Chin up - you are working far harder than most students doing 'real' courses, and your time management skills and self-motivation will be second to none. Do IM me if you want to moan about it - I have a little gang of students who share our feelings and provide mutual support and it is reassuring to know we are not alone!

I am, and it is hard to keep yourself motivated at times... I just keep pushing myself everytime I feel like I'm slacking.

yeah

they are always a lot harder, but employers really value the experience of self motivation.
