In as much as I was not around to see how everything came into being (and neither were you),I say, "I don't know ..... YET!" To assume that some god, my less than intellectual ancestors made up, instantaneously farted the universe into being, is absurd

Many do believe this, yes even Christians. I am not one of them. Evolution is just not scientifically sound, neither is the origin of the species which may be what you really mean.
The science behind these theories had many wholes Darwin said would have to be filled in later. Science has not filled in these wholes so far.
If Darwin could have the use of an electron Microscope or read about DNA or the coding necessary to assemble Amino acids he would laugh at his on theories.
I know this will not change your minds and thats not my job but before you continue to think we are a bunch of idiots you may wish to read some new science "A case for a Creator" that shows the truth about these topics.
By the way the guy who wrote this book (Lee Sttrobel) was an atheist and a highly educated reporter. Not some knuckle dragging right winger nut case like me...
Have a nice day and God Bless

If this is true, then it proves that Genesis is wrong. You can indeed believe this, but you can't be a Christian if you do. This would be just another part of the Bible that "doesn't apply" anymore. Already the old testament isn't practiced (except the 10 commandments). How long before even MORE is thrown away because it isn't correct?

Evolution is a biological process-it doesn't need or in fact say anything about God. God might have been the prime mover in the universe-evolution allows for that. God and religion is an issue for theologians-theologians have no input or relevance to evolutionary biology.

Actually, for many people that is the point of intelligent design -- to say that it is the hand of God that keeps all those processes functioning correctlyl.

Intelligent design is based on a story, not facts. It does not follow scientific method... it reverses the method. It says "we want things to work this way, lets see what evidence we can find to support our idea and ignore everything that runs contrary to it." This is not science.

i agree. If God is energy and energy is needed in order for evolution to occur...then it can be both.

Because evolution makes no sense if you don't need it.
