God is only a 'he' in the religions from the mideast. That's because the garden of Eden story is based on a time when the Anannaki were there mining gold, enslaving the highest form of human at the time to work there. It's pure plagarism from older myths.
god does not have gender nor does the divine talk.

The God that many people worship today is from a patriarchal system. Because 'He' comes from a long line of people who prefered the 'father right' it follows that he would be male. As for me, I prefer my divinity female. I've found great joy in discovering the feminine divine. If you're curious about it, find "When God Was a Woman" by Merlin Stone. It's about ancient Goddess cultures.
Really, whatever "God" is, it's something that transcends all anthropomorphic (humanlike) chartaristics we like to put on it. But these charactaristics help us relate to it. So my preference is a Goddess form.

God embodies both male and female. Human gender is dictated by hormones but the respective male and female characteristics reflect different facets of God's essence.

God is a He because that is how He wished to be refered to as. God is refered to as Father throughout the Bible and Jesus (God on earth) was male.

God has no gender - God is without limitations and genders are inherently limited. Also, having gender implies a need to procreate. God creates, creations procreate.

Well now think logically Jesus was born into this world of a woman. That was his mother. Now he called God his Father so does it not seem logical to refer to God as he.

God is the Almighty, He is "I am" God does not have a gender He is spirit. I think for our brains it was easier to give a gender to Him to make it so we can understand. God is God.

I would also think that it is because he can produce both male and female species. If you clone a man, you can produce a male or female, because males carry both genes, but females only carry one, so by themselves, they can only produce females.
Note, the angels are also only referred to as male, and when they took human form, it was only as males.
