talk to the principal but also seek permission to talk to the kid himself. talk kindly and explain to him the destruction racism can have on people and on him. tell him that someone one day could make sure that he doesn't get a job due to his color. show him how unimportant is color. i guess u yourself are married with a coloured man?so take your marriage for an example to show the benefit of union of people instead of racial discrimination. or talk to the kid's parent. the thing is he may well has learnt all this rubbish from his mom and dad. if your kind words doesn't work, try something more direct and ruthless. scare him. i'll do anything even shook him to make sure that my kid is not subjected to such treatment. the decision is yours. goodluck

Talking to the Principal and Bus Driver is a good start. Have him write a letter to the Parents informing them of the racisim their children are causing. Explain to your child that there are ignorant children and you will try your best to have the principal contact their parents. Good Luck to you.

firstly, don't take it too seriously, the world is full of s'hit. secondly, you are pretty darn cool to keep wanting to change the world to a better place. keep the faith, the world needs more such ppl.
thirdly teach ur child to handle it, understand it, and not conform, but overcome it. he will be a better person in the end. careful though, its not a one time affair, so will take a long time i suppose, but will keep u busy...lol
then, in addition, u can organise or ask if u can organise some lectures in school if you have the time for antiracism speeches etc, and harmony, etc. ask the school if they have many students getting bullied. otherwise, u will have to settle for jsut educating the particular group.
good luck.

you are doing the right thing by talking to the principal and the bus driver. these children need to be taught now that racism is very bad and can 'hurt' other people's feelings like it would hurt them if someone does it to them.

It's unfair. Talking to the principal, etc is nice and all but probably won't change anything. I suggest you talk with your child about why people hate and that it's not your child's fault. The benefits of these conversations will last a lifetime. He will need it. Good Luck!

having a talk with the parents would be a good start.
however, i would tell my son that they don;t know any better, so instead of him being upset he would be feeling sorry for them for not knowing any better.
always better to help kids to deal with issues than to run to the principal or parents.
