don't, just have pride and leave him as soon as you can. Remember If he is violent now (when he should be the personification of a gentlemen) imagine what will happen if you get married with him. He is going to abuse you and then it is going to be more difficult for you to dump that son of a b.
Just do it.

You need to get out if he is already violent what would stop him from killing you. Sorry to be so blunt but I would rather be blunt then read in the paper that yet another woman was murdered be her boyfriend. And another thing the police are there for a reason use them.
Be Safe

Survey says....."Dump Him!!!" But seriously. How do you feel about being abused? What would you say to someone you love who might be in the same situation? You have to remove yourself mentally enough from the emotional to see this situation clearly. Evaluate who you are and look closely at what your stregnths are. These are the good things you will bring to a partner. (Faults is a whole other book, lol.) You will need someone who recognizes that you are a person of value. Cultivate the beautiful woman that you are to become and the man in your future will recognize you when he comes along.

You say boyfriend (friend) and at the other hand he is violent. I think friend and violent are two different things. Friends never may be violent. When there is violence then it ends the friendship.

What kind of violence are we talking here because my man and I have been known to throw down and we are a perfectly happy couple who just fight dirty. Are we talking the kind of violence that escalates to him terrorizing you and eventualy stabbing you to death with some sort of weapon because if he seems out of control or cruel just leave there is no dealing with that type of personality they are dangerous and incapable of love. However if he's like my man a controled hot head get hot right back make a raucous you might find it adds just enough spice to keep you hanging on to him.

First: "LEAVE HIM ALONE"!. He may end-up hurting you.
Second: "GET A RESTRAINING ORDER ON HIM". This is a way to keep his distance, and having him on record at the police dept. let's them know that he is an abuser.
Third: "YOU DON'T DESERVE THIS TREATMENT". Take time out to yourself, and then make room for a more meaningful relationship, with someone who will love and respect you.

Leave him, it's the only answer. He will never change. I was married to this type of man for 22yrs and he controlled me as if I were a 2yr old. People rarely change.
