during the day, I merely keep warm and take paracetamol, plenty to drink, soups etc., but, now this is the best bit and it really makes you feel good and in fact helps get rid of the cold too, I put a double measure of spirit, what ever I have, at the time, I love rum but whiskey etc will do, then put in a cup half fill it then with lemonade(fizzy) then put in two teaspons of sugar, forget the diet, then put the cup in a microwave for about 1.5 mins, you drink that about an half to an hour before bed, when I do it I sleep like a log, all warm and snug, as the alcohol actually lowers your temp but you feel warm, the next day because I have slept so well my body has worked on it and I always feel much better, I never have a cold for more than two days and I believe its due to that simple drink, if you dont like spirits you can try wine.
with regards to feeding it, you best keep to drinks as much as pos, but as its only a cold it dont matter too much.

"Feed a cold, starve a fever" I think is the correct saying. Personally I drink green tea, that helps me to feel better when I have a cold.
Drink lots of fluid and get lots of rest...that's the only way to get rid of a cold

First big fluffy blanket so your comfy
Chicken noodle soup nice and salty
Ginger Ale is the beverage of cures
Meds I would go with a benedryl maybe unorthodox for colds put willl dry out the sinus cavity without nervous side effects from a pysdophedrine product. Motrin also works best if you ahve head pain from the cold. Tharaflue has a nice combo of meds in it as well. It has always had a nice calming affect on me too.
I Hope you feel better!

In all honesty, nothing really works for a cold. You just have to ride it my friend. All the products on the market are aimed at people who are desperate to feel better, but actually they don't work. Save your money, snuggle under your duvet and have a cup of tea with some honey in it. The only cure is how fast and efficiently your immune system works. Eat loads of fruit and veg to boost vitamin c, and speed up your immunity. Also drink plenty of water. Hope you feel better soon.

Drink plenty of fluids like water, fruit juices and clear soups. Fluids help loosen mucus. Fluids are also important if you have a fever because fever can dry up your body's fluids, which can lead to dehydration.
Gargle with warm salt water a few times a day to relieve a sore throat. Throat sprays or lozenges may also help relieve the pain.

I think Sudafed Cold and Sinus works the best. It always makes me feel better and gives me energy. I think vitamins help and should be taken regularly. I have heard that Chicken Noodle Soup has been shown to help shorten the length of a cold, it might be psychosomatic. Other than that, I think rest is also very important.

Drink anything warm. Take tylenol for fever. Icecream or popcycles of some kind. Pudding, jello. Any decongestant will help, and maybe some Afrin to keep your sinuses open. Just dont use it too much. Itll make things worse.

medicines usually do nothing for me when i have a cold. I have lots of fluids, wrap up warm and rest. Usually takes me 2 days to get over the worst of it.
