there is sometimes a way to determine the expiration date.
Lets say it has a J6 on the back of the package.
This is how you read it
A-Jan
B-Feb
C-March
D-April
E-May
F-June
G-July
H-Aug
I-Sept
J-Oct
K-Nov
L-Dec
Then the immediate number following the letter stand for the year. I used 6. That would mean that the candy would expired Oct 2006 =J6.
Understand it ?

if your really going to find out the expiration date.. you can try checking the product code from the manufacturer but it wouldn't be that easy to do that. i think the taste would really matter also in determining if its still ok but, its not that safe or gauranteed. examine other boxes of chocolates having similar product code (or "batch no" ) in the store where you bought that and check out their expiration. they are manufactured batch by batch so every batch has similar expirations. another thing, try to check for the individual expiration dates on each chocolate wrapper or box inside that box, (since you purchase a box of it), you may find one there.

Chocolates don't turn bad very fast!!! They can still be good after several months.
When chocolates have turned white, it's not because they are bad, it's because they have been stored in a place that was too warm! Temperature changes make chocolate turn white!
Just eat them, nothing to it!

I would go on their color and if they look fresh. If they do then eat one and see how they taste!! Unless your giving them to a friend then just hope for the best or buy a new box.

If your chocolate is gray, then it is very old, but not bad.
