The references you are referring to do not mean that God's word will be corrupted, only that people would corrupt the meaning.
There are too many other scripture references to an incorruptible Word.

I think you are right. The early church and a man named Iraneus had a lot to do with deciding what went in the Bible. In addition, even kings had their say about how it would be translated. The King James version for instance, tells us that "thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." However, King James had the word "witch" placed there in English because of his hatred for Pagans. A closer translation would be "poisoner" because there was a rash of poisonings in the Jewish community. It's a lot easier for me to believe that God is commanding the execution of assassins than of innocent people who have different beliefs, even though a "witch" wasn't the same thing then as it is now.
The Biblical stories are so old now that we will never understand the nuances of scripture, especially after the various translations it has to go through before it ever hits English.
Bottom line is, don't go nuts over the Bible. When we become to literal and legal about the scripture, we get closer to the way some of these Muslims are acting because of their scripture. They are so interested in following legal codes that they've failed to see they are murderers and peace disturbers.
The Bible and the sayings of Christ certainly have central themes I think we should follow, but if something in the Bible contradicts those themes, I choose to overlook it as a misunderstanding. I know what love is, and anything that goes against that isn't real.

I think the first thing people have to understand is that the bible was written by man and we no man is by no means "perfect".Secondly,it lays down several different sets of rules of behavior,you have to choose the path you want to walk for yourself and try not to be judgmental of the path some-one else may choose for themselves.People tend to pick out certain passages of scripture to suit their own agendas,some may say that this is corrupt,who knows?One thing i do know,it"s all about freedom of choice,a freedom that everyone has.

The bible has been re-written so many times and re-interpreted so many times and translated so many times it is impossible to know what the original document meant.
Emperor Constantine and King James had it heavily edited to suit their own political purposes
