Several years ago the pirate experts said that it was easy. The permission was on a card that was written when you bought the Direct TV service. It said what you had paid to be able to see. Pirate viewers realized that they could write to that card and put permission to see everything - no limits. So the government banned the sale of the card writers. The pirates bought it in Canada and thought that they had won. That lasted for a year or so and then the Direct TV had a new approach. They cycled through every card one by one over months and had the satellite wipe out the contents of the card by clearing a master word in it. So the pirates changed the card so it had an internal correction for that and got more months of free service. When Direct TV had the cure for that the pirates made a carrier that rewrote the card with a new image every time that you turned on th TV. That way if it was overwritten you could get it back. Direct TV changed what they wrote so you needed a more powerful computer to fix the card after they overwrote it. That was the last I heard from anyone who claimed to know. I am sure the battle is still going on since the pirates think of it as a game that they can always win again and Direct TV thinks of it as their superior brain power can smash any amateurs - so it is an ongoing battle of egos..

Yes I still get it free in 2015. I use a special antenna and hang Christmas lights from it. Th green, blue and red lights work best to bring in the signal. I get over 300 channels even HBO.

Don't you think you're being a little blatant, advertising your intention to commit an illegal act in such a public forum?
