Tell her first so she wears the right shoes if there's going to be a lot of walking involved.

My boyfriend arrived to our first date on foot. Then we got the bus to the fair for the afternoon and the bus home again! We had a great time and it didn't bother me in the slightest. We've been together six years now and bought our first home together 9 months ago. What I'm trying to say is, it doesn't matter about a car or no car or anything like that. All that matters is you have a fun enjoyable evening together. If she's shallow enough to Judge you on something as trivial as not having a car, then she's not worth bothering with anyway.

Aw how sweet
I think its very romantic walking hand in hand while on a date. Or even catching the bus together, that way you concentrate more on your conversations and enjoy the fresh air at the same time.
Let her know obviously you dont have a car so she can wear suitable shoes and a jacket if need be. My boyfriend has a car and im forever trying to get him to leave it behind and use public transport, especially when we choose to drink.
That way he doesnt have to worry about driving afterwards, and we enjoy our nights out a lot more. So its not always bad not having a car, its alot more fun holding hands and enjoying each others company, rushing around or kissing/canoodling while waiting for the bus/train to arrive, if she finds it a problem then mate shes real shallow....
Have a fun time
xx

First of all does she have a car? I will say this as well never lie to someone you really like a lot! I think you should tell her first don't just walk up to her door with no car. If she really likes you she won't mind, but you need to be honest, always when it comes to a relationship or dating. The one thing women hate the most is when they meet the man for the first time and he is nothing like he said he was??? Honesty is the the best key to a successfull relationship! Good Luck to You! I hope everything works out!

That would all depend on how old I am (your date I mean). I'm 38 so I would definitely not go out with a guy who doesn't own a car, or at least pick me up in one.
If the girl is a teenager, then it might be understandable. I agree with the other answer, make sure to tell her so she can where comfortable shoes if there will be a lot of walking.

ok, as none of the answers have been honest I'll let you know the truth!! as a single woman I wouldnt be devastated, but surprised that my date arrived on foot. If she drives, ask her to drive? we're all about equality after all. Make sure that you dont get hammered though, if she has to dink soft drinks then so should you!
Ultimately if she judges you for not having a car shes probably not for you, just be upfront and tell her!!

I guess it all depends on your age - I mean if you're kinda young then she shouldnt have any expectations on you having a car - if you're say late twenties or older, she may be assuming you have a car so maybe just point out to her in advance that you will be walking - just so theres no confusion about things.
If shes disapointed that you dont have a car then really shes only materialistic and you're better off without.
I think to be on the safe side just tell her you wont be driving - problems solved then.

First of all, how old are you? If you're still in High School I guess that would be OK. But I would definately want to know before hand. Now if your a man out of High School, that is just not OK. You should have your priorities down by now and have a car even if it's an old beat up!

Nah.
Borrow a friend's car for the date or arrive by taxi and ask him to wait. It might cost a little but she'll be impressed...
Or, just arrive on foot and bring her flowers and explain about the car.

what are you worried about? him or the car? why don't you let the meeting decide if this is the person you want to see again. keeping these " what if he is like this, what if he's not what I am looking for" kind of thoughts .....churning in your head does not do anything but keep you from being yourself and from seeing the truth about the other person.
Chances are, he is not the only person you would date, so just chill out and enjoy the day!!

Depends on where you live if you live in some large city where you can find a perfect date on any city block then no I like to walk but you might want to warn her so she wears her comfy shoes if you don't live in a city you might suggest she drives or meet her at the site of the date you can take a cab there and if she drives she can take you home.
