I like this question! It is well stated, and shows the true meaning of Islam.
I am not a Muslim, and I get so tried of replying on Yahoo to stupid and bigoted questions and replies of non Muslims.
Islam makes alot more sense than Christianity does. G-d is One.

Well who really knows if such a story is true. The Hadith - even the ones of Sahih Burkhari - were set down hundreds of years after Mohammed's death.
What is known to be factual is the fact that after Mohammed's death, the tribes he had united in the Arabian peninsula did spread out and conquer Palestine, Mesopotamia, and North Africa. There can be no doubt - despite Islamic claims to the contrary - that Spain was conquered by North African muslims collaborating with a local rebel named Julien, and not by any "popular demand to be invaded" as Muslim apologists often like to portray.
Islamic designs on Europe were eventually thwarted by Charles Martel and much later by King Sobieski in the battle of Vienna - but Muslim conquerors hungered for Europe for the better part of a thousand years.
Even today, Islam is only widespread in lands that Arab, North African, or Ottoman armies conquered, or places where people ethnically from such areas have settled (such as in South America or South Africa.) Purely fair and peaceful proselytism has played little role in the spread of Islam.
Don't get me wrong - the same can be said of many places where Christianity abides today. And I am not saying Muslims are not peaceful today - most are. But to say war played no role in the historical spread of Islam is to deny history as recorded in both Islamic and western history books.

Otherwise look up your History... It says so right there that Mohammed forced his way into Jerusalem and Mecca and Muslim Jihaddists roamed all the way from Constantinople to Spain to India.
