Only around the time the book of John was written (after the year 100 CE), when the idea of the trinity got started, did Christians start insisting that when Jesus calls himself "son of God" he means he is the literal SON of God.
Numbers 23:19
"G-d [is] not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent..."
Psalms 146:3
"Put not your trust in princes, [nor] in the son of man, in whom [there is] no help".

I clicked the link that Suzany provided and looked too. Actually, she didn't read it, because she said there were too many and in fact there is none. Jesus never ever called Himself the "Son of God". Of course, He does refer to God as "my father" many times, but not once did He say "I am the Son of God".
That being said, I did count up 12 other people who did say it that were either looking directly at Him or relaying what they saw at the time they did actually see Him. So I guess I'd have to ask you if 12 other people, most of whom did not know each other, proclaim, state, aver, testify to the exact same thing, would you say it was true?

Christ mean "annointed One
Lord indicates divine sovereignty
The title "Son of God" signifies the unique and eternal relationship of Jesus Christ to God his Father: He is the only Son of the Father John 1:14, 18, 3:16 18

They consult with a similar person: Jesus. yet, they have diverse connotations. Son of God refers back to the incontrovertible fact that He replaced into conceived as a human by the Holy Spirit interior Mary's womb. God the Son refers back to the incontrovertible fact that he's God who grew to become flesh. the adjustments are diffused and a selection of of times blurred.

Mark 1:11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
John 8:18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
John 10:30 I and my Father are one.
Jesus always made reference to His Father. God's voice came from the heavens and called Jesus His son.

Being referred to as the "son" of god or man could also refer to the son meaning the light or way.Light guides or pathway through darkness, not physical but mental or spiritual. So in essence,he could also be refered to as the light of god which is there to lead man along right or well lit path which also leads to salvation. Therefore he is both, the son of man and the son of god.

John 10:36, Jesus said, "what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, 'I am God's Son'?
