I've played with a Ouija board when I was a kid. Even back then I saw that it was nonsense.
Penn&Teller did a great show on this type of stuff in their "Bullshit" series. They blindfolded people who believed in Ouija boards and had them try to contact spirits with them. They didn't tell the people that the board was turned around. The people still made the Ouija thingy go to where the words and letters used to be. Apparently, the spirits were blindfolded, too. lol

I didnt really participate but rather as a spectator.
My friends usually draw the board themselves, and they observe rules, eg.
- one empty seat for the spirit
- invite with sincerity and dismiss at the end of the session politely
- no pressing hard on the dish, just touch the edge of dish
There are fears that the spirit will follow one of the attendees, so usually the session is held with care and respect, so as not to offend the spirit.

I watched some people using the Ouija board probably 40 years ago. They did know a spirit was operating through it. I consider them instruments of evil.

have seen these used and the spirits seemed to not be kind at all. would be cynical and skeptical about using these as they could do more harm than good providing one takes no precautions. even then would be concerned about the results from what I observed.
