Ditto girlfriend. Saltwater gargle, antibiotics, TheraFlu in the red box, Robitussin DM (or Nyquil/Dayquil), chicken soup-even if cup of soup-for the vapor.Chicken is nature's antibiotic, breath in the vapor.Gatorade,Cranberry juice, drink like gallons of water and such. Rest but not too much, the lungs need to work, tissue, cough drops and say nothing. Whisper nothing. Treat your throat as if you cherish it, because others wont and will still talk to you. Point to your throat and gesture 'sorry'.Take it easy, these ailments seem to take turns, once you start to feel well, seems the lesser ailment looms up and this goes on like ping pong until its out of your system.I'm almost over this thing, hope it goes quicker for you.

The best thing you can do for laryngitis is try not to talk too much and DO NOT WHISPER. Whispering actually strains your vocal cords more than talking. I also agree with Qetest, that you shouldn't run yourself down. I used you run myself down and would get the same symptoms you described at least once a year, sometimes more. I would wrap something warm around my neck which helped the sore throat. Take a decongestant to help with the congestion and drink hot beverages, preferably hot teas maybe with a little honey added. Feel better soon!

Laryngitis is an inflammation of your voice box (larynx) due to overuse, irritation or infection.
When you have laryngitis, NEVER WHISPER, BECAUSE THIS HARMS YOUR VOICE EVEN MORE. try not to talk, instead use a little white board to communicate. Whenever I have laryngitis, I always gargle with hot salt water, and drink plenty of liquids

Go to the doctor and get a diagnosis if you haven't. Just rest for a few days and drink plenty of liquids. It is often a virus which just runs it's course.
