What an interesting question! I 've wondered about this, too...then I searched for answers from the Bible...
Jesus was born in the middle east, as you say...and He was born to Jewish parents from the line of David. He grew up in the Jewish traditional religion. When he was about 30 years old or so, He began to preach, as well as being a carpenter. Also, He did not have the long hair that you see in images of Him; He wore His hair in the style that was popular in those days, medium length. He preached in Jewish synagogues, and He preached to Gentiles, (those not Jewish or converted) His preaching was for all people then, just as His message is for all races, colors, and peoples now. He shares a message to all to follow Him; that is why He died for all humanity. He is the Savior, altho many do not yet realize it. They will someday, and hopefully they will learn it easily. He is not forcing His ways on anyone, at this time...His message was/is to live your life in the best Spiritual way possible, as you learn. Jesus message in those days, before His crucifiction, was that the Jewish people should live by everything He taught, the New Testament.... (The same thing that we, as Christians, are supposed to live by) Jesus was Jewish by nationality, coming from a line of Jewish heritage, however Jesus did not teach Judiasm, He taught against most of it's 600 laws and traditions, ( these were only laws until the Messiah came )which were being replaced by living only by the 10 Commandments. He re-inforced living by them; and summed the 10 Commandments into 2 extremely important ones..."Love God, and love your neighbor as yourself"...and if the world lived by Jesus message, we would all have love for one another, and there would not be all the killing and sensless wars, commited in the name of religions, and we would have peace, love and happiness!
The Jewish people as a whole, reject Jesus as the savior, ( they are still waiting for their Savior to come, ) They loved their laws, and traditions, and to most Jews, Jesus was no more than a prophet!
Anyone who follows Christ, and really accepts true Christianity,
( no matter what the "name" of their religion might be...) are the Chosen people....not those who reject Jesus and the message, the Gospel He taught.
I hope this helps to clear up your questions.
God Bless!

READ Genesis chapter 17

The only true God established a covenant with Abraham to bring the Messianic seed through his son Isaac's lineage. The Jewish nation that resulted was the nation in which the Messiah must be born, because they were the favored people of God.

It was all part of God's plan from the beginning. God wanted people to follow Him and to live in relationship with Him, but then that got messed up at the Fall. And after that people kept thinking they were better than God and kind of ignored Him. So God decided to call Abraham into special service to reveal God and His ways to the people around him (Genesis 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed). God wanted Abraham and his descendents to be a light to the nations around them and to show them how to follow God. But they messed up, so God forgave them, and they messed up, and God forgave them, and this carried on for quite a while. Isaiah 49 says "He says, "It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also make You a light of the nations so that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth." So in God's perfect timing He sent Jesus into the world as a Jew (to fulfill the prophecies and God's plan), and in the Middle East because that's where the Jews lived (there was also a prophecy about the Messiah being born in Bethlehem). Does that answer your question?

He was born in the middle east because he was a direct descendant of David, who was also from that area. He is Jewish because he was prophesied to be the Messiah, savior of the world, come to fulfill the Law already handed down by Moses. The only problem was, his own people denied and rejected him, which was also foretold by scripture. I wasn't until after his ascension that he actually handed it down to the apostles to teach to the Gentile.

Jesus was born in the middle east because that was Gods plan and it had been prophesied long before he was born on earth.

Jesus was not Jewish, Jesus is and was God. Jesus came to earth in the region God ordained and became a child in the race of people in that land.

We need a perfect sacrifice for our sins in order for us to have a way to know God, Jesus came from a place on high to the place of a lowly baby in order to give you a choice.

Why do you see when you are so blind why do hear but you are deaf. You know and you reject him, He loves you and you reject him.

He loves you.

because christians belive (incorrectly) that jesus was the jewish messiah, that jews (they belive) rejected.

which is of course, from a jewish point of view quite absurd. for judaism if the messiah truly did come it would be undeniable, obvious, and plain as day. none of this having to prove it stuff... it would simply be self evident.

the idea of jesus being a sacrifice to allow all of humanity to be "saved" or whatever is rather odd as well, and is a uniquely christian thing, and honestly I find that respect to be a bit illogical as well.

but then again, Judaism doesn't HAVE an eternal hell that you go to if you don't belive in God, after one lifetime... so there was never a NEED to have such a role to begin with, in judaism. Basically in Judaism everyone who has any interest to eventually gets to heaven anyway.

so from my understanding, the christian beleif is that jesus was jewish, because he was meant to be the messiah of the jews, which of course, would obviously (in fact, by definition, would be eligible to be king, that is, a direct descendant of david and solomon) be jewish. , but that the jews rejected him, (jews rejected him because he simply didn't fulfill the job...) and thus it went to plan B,. ... or something. and he turned to everyone else. ... or something.

its really rather illogical.

Why are you making a big deal about His race and people? It is all about the covenant--Jesus is the promised Messiah of the Old Testament with Israel (the people, not the country/land).

The Jews were expecting Messiah. When they rejected Jesus as Messiah, then God opened the way for the rest of us (Gentiles) to get to Heaven through Jesus.

The Jews were the chosen people of God. In the Bible, God predicts that the Messiah would be a descendant of David ( a Jew).

If he shouldn't have been born a Jew, what should he have been?

From the very early beginning, God picked a man out of all the very wicked world to begin a nation of people that in time would give lineage to the Savior.
He was a man in lineage through Seth and his name was Abraham.
